It’s a misery season one after the other for the Cincinnati Bengals fans. After earlier losses to the New England Patriots and Kansas City Chiefs, the Bengals really needed a win against the Washington Commanders on Monday.
Washington Commanders, touted as a rebuild team, was a fairly easy opponent for the Bengals. However, Jayden Daniels and his men shocked the Bengals to secure their second straight victory of the season, handing the Bengals an unwanted start to the regular season. They are now 0-3, limiting their chances for a playoff appearance to a meager 2.5%.
The Commanders have taken the game in stride. They expected the win against the New York Giants, as the latter was also a fledgling team with very little chance to create miracles. However, the latest win in Week 3 has been an upset for the ages. The Bengals vs. Commanders game also created history as the first game since 1940 without a single punt or a turnover.
The heat of such a game would be high – and the exhilaration to record a fantastic performance in the league is a huge thing for a rookie. In the aftermath of the game, while congratulating each other on the win, Daniels took an opportunity to grab a rightful taunt to the Cincinnatian seated in the stadium

Jayden Daniels had a pass completion rate of 91.3% for 293 yards and recorded three touchdowns. The LSU Heisman Trophy winners derby eventually went out to Daniels who also coveted the NFL rookie and Washington Commanders franchise record for his pass completion rate.
Jayden Daniels took advantage of a grappling Bengals defense
Jayden Daniels played short yards, getting the ball out of his pretty quickly as the Cincinnati Bengals failed to apply pressures on the Commanders’ offense. The Bengals’ defense has been shuffling through so many different problems this year.
Their run defense is among the worst in the league, struggling to stop the ground game. To improve, they must force turnovers and avoid critical missed tackles. Their pass rush hasn’t done any favors either outside of Trey Hendrickson.
The team brought in a couple of veteran safeties, but the secondary just hasn’t worked out at all. Cam Taylor-Britt, who spoke a big game, and Daxton Hill both had defensive passes picked off that changed the game on deep completions.
The Bengals will face a fresh Carolina Panthers, who seemed to have become better under Andy Dalton in Week 4 looking for a victory. A 0-4 record would be the demise of their playoff hopes as only one team has done it before, the 1992 Chargers. On the other hand, the Commanders, who have now gone to the top of the NFC East, will face the Arizona Cardinals in their next game.
