Jayden Daniels trolls Lions rookie with “Cancun on 3” message after Commanders’ playoff win

The Washington Commanders pulled off the biggest upset of this season by beating the Detroit Lions in the NFC Divisional Round last week. The star of the night was rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels, who wound up with 299 yards and 2 touchdowns. After the game, as he shook hands with his competitors, Terrion Arnold approached him for a jersey swap.
The rookie quarterback obliged, but he did not just give Arnold his jersey. Prominent football YouTuber and UFL player Donald De La Haye AKA Deestroying revealed an interesting snipped on a recent episode of Kickin’ it with Dee podcast. He is a good friend of Terrion Arnold and turns out, Jayden Daniels had a special message for the cornerback.
The quarterback referred Cancun right after he knocked the Lions out of the playoffs.
He told me that he swapped jerseys with Jayden Daniels after the game and on the bottom of the jersey Jayden Daniels wrote, ‘Cancun on 3; 1,2,3.’
Donald De La Haye revealed
De La Haye revealed the incident while struggling to hold back his laughter. Irrespective of what one has to say about Daniels, his personality and competitiveness are laudable character traits.

Terrion Arnold is from the same draft class as Daniels. Both of them were first-round picks, with the former being the 24th overall pick and the latter being the second overall pick. Arnold is an alumnus of Alabama. He was fortunate enough to land on the Lions as they have the perfect culture to groom a talented rookie into a star.
For Detroit, the Cancun script has flipped. After the final game of the regular season between the Lions and Vikings, HC Dan Campbell hugged his counterpart, Kevin O’Connell, and told him, “I’ll see you in two weeks.” He was referencing his optimism that the teams will face each other in the Divisional Round, but unfortunately, Minnesota lost in the Wild Card Round.

A week later, Detroit suffered the same fate as the second-best team in the NFC. Due to this statement by Campbell, the Cancun joke is widely circulated and associated with the team after their loss last week.
While injuries marred the Lions’ aspirations to make it to the Super Bowl, the Commanders stepped up and made the best of this opportunity. Now Jayden Daniels is just one win away from reaching the Super Bowl as a rookie.
