- Jaylen Brown's promotional event for his 741 Performance sneaker brand was shut down by Beverly Hills Police due to permit issues.
- The Beverly Hills PD issued an apology, but Brown expressed dissatisfaction with their reasoning and the impact on his brand.
- Brown believes the police acted on insufficient evidence and continues to criticize them for interfering with his private event.
Jaylen Brown was at the All-Star weekend to celebrate the moment with his peers. Since it was in Los Angeles, the NBA Champion also took out the time for some personal errands.
While his injured teammate, Jayson Tatum, was busy playing golf with Lakers’ superstar LeBron James, Utah Jazz star Kevin Love, and a few others, the 2024 Finals MVP had other things in mind. He was trying to promote his 741 Performance sneaker brand by setting up a live stream at a house in Beverly Hills. The stream was supposed to be a panel to discuss the brand and the community.
However, officers from the Beverly Hills Police Department arrived at the house and shut down the event, claiming permits were not provided. Even though Jaylen Brown tried to reason that it was a private event that did not require permission, officers still ensured it was over.
Now, the Beverly Hills Police Department has issued an apology for the entire incident. Even though the Boston Celtics superstar accepted the apology, he was not happy with their reasons.
Thank you for apology, Beverly Hills PD, but Damage is already done, and I can’t recreate that moment again and what about resources/partners lost? In a moment that was supposed to be celebrated, you embarrassed me and my brand, 741 Performance.

It seems the 29-year-old wants to know what happens to all the resources he pooled to host this event, only for the local police to act on unverified information.
Jaylen Brown continues his rant against the Beverly Hills PD
Ever since Jaylen Brown decided to take on the usual sneaker giants with his own brand, events have taken place that have given him the idea that he might be targeted by the leaders of the industry.
One such instance was when he directly called out Nike for influencing USA Basketball’s roster decisions for the Paris Olympics. It seems this incident at Beverly Hills has him believing on those same lines.
The 5-time All-Star continues to lash out against the Beverly Hills Police Department with a statement from his company, as he feels that they acted upon insufficient evidence, yet are not taking complete accountability for their actions.

He is not happy with the apology rendered by them and continues to slam them for interfering with his brand’s private promotional activity. Brown believes that the police did not have the right to shut down a private event, which, to his knowledge, did not violate any rules.
Jaylen Brown gets back to dominating for Celtics
Even though the Beverly Hills PD made things difficult for Jaylen Brown and his promotional activities for his 741 Performance, he still has to get his mind right to focus on his day job.

The former 3rd overall pick probably never left California and moved on to San Francisco to wait until the rest of his Boston Celtics teammates arrived to start their four-game road trip.
With their first game against the Golden State Warriors, Brown knew he would face two former teammates in Al Horford and Kristaps Porzingis, who have a very good idea about how the Celtics play.
However, both of them came off the bench in a game where Stephen Curry watched from the sidelines. Jaylen Brown took advantage of that and produced a stellar triple-double performance, which was enough to get his team back on their winning streak.
