“They can shove it where they got it from!” Jaylen Brown gives BLUNT response to Stephen A Smith’s ‘unnamed source’
Boston Celtics Star Jaylen Brown joined ESPN's Stephen A Smith to clear the air over their offseason dispute over 'unnamed source's' claims.
Stephen A. Smith again spoke about Jaylen Brown's lack of marketability
The theme of Jaylen Brown and the Boston Celtics’ offseason has been proving every doubter wrong. Since winning the championship, the Celtics’ star has worn his heart on his sleeve, and he finally got to address his conflict with ESPN’s Stephen A Smith.
The All-Star forward appeared on the latest episode of the Stephen A Smith Show to clear the air about a report from Smith in May. On the show, Jaylen Brown addressed a report from an ‘unnamed source’ of Smith’s on First Take.
During a segment on First Take, Smith had reported that an unnamed source had messaged him to describe Brown as an ‘unmarketable’ star due to his big ego. Brown, understandably, took the report as an indignified remark about his character.

"I basically wanted to say to them that I think it's cowardice. I think historically, unnamed sources have attacked some of our greats. I/we are not responsible for what they lack and design. Frankly, they can call… pic.twitter.com/PpAhYjRBsE
The Celtics Star critiqued the journalistic integrity involved in hiding behind screens while attempting to assassinate someone’s character.
The interview between Brown and Smith stemmed from a post on X that the former had made following Smith’s on-screen reportage of the story. In his post, Brown asked Smith to reveal the sources who claimed that the Celtics Star was ‘unmarketable’ and ‘arrogant.’

Jaylen Brown presents a special gift to Stephen A Smith
Over the course of the summer, Jaylen Brown made sure to negate every doubter of the star after winning an NBA championship. After asking Stephen A Smith to state his sources, the Celtics Star wore a t-shirt that read his message “State your source” to the Boston Celtics Championship Parade.
As Brown entered the ESPN studio to join Smith for an interview, he came bearing gifts. Brown wore the same t-shirt which he had worn during the championship parade to the studio.

The text on the t-shirt was meant to be a mocking response to Smith’s claims, but Brown gifted a copy of the same t-shirt to Smith as well. It is safe to say that the two do not harbor any ill will towards each other following the bombshell interview.
