- Jaylen Brown criticized Lu Dort for his physical defense during a live stream, comparing it to being hit by a grandparent.
- The Boston Celtics defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder 119-109, ending their 12-game winning streak.
- Brown scored a team-high 31 points, with 12 coming from free throws, ranking fifth in the league for free throw attempts.
It is no secret that Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown never shies away from speaking his mind. On his latest live stream, Brown took shots at Oklahoma City Thunder star Lu Dort for his excessive physicality.
The Boston Celtics handed the Thunder their first defeat in March on Wednesday night. After trailing by four points at the end of the first half, the Celtics were a much improved team in the second half as they registered a 119-109 victory over the defending champions at the TD Garden.
Playing some of the video clips of the match on his live stream, Brown had a hilarious reaction to Dort’s physical defense on him.
Dang! They weren’t about to call this, too. Bro snapped me upside the head, I’m tight. Bro smacked me upside the head like I was one of his grandkids or something.

Despite the excessive physicality, Lu Dort had just three fouls to his name. Over the last two years, Dort has elevated his game into one of the best wing defenders in the NBA and is one of the main reasons why the Thunder pose the strongest defense in the league today.
Usually tasked with guarding the opposition’s primary ball-handler, Dort was seen guarding Jaylen Brown for the majority of the game. Although he is a strong defender, Dort has been guilty of some dirty fouls throughout his career and gets away with it more often than not. Last month, he was involved in an altercation with Nikola Jokic for a cheap shot on the Serbian.
Despite the excessive physicality on Brown, the Celtics forward scored a team-high 31 points to go along with eight rebounds and eight assists. The self proclaimed best two-way player in the league knows what it takes to be a premier defender in the NBA.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander takes a subtle dig at Jaylen Brown over free throws
Reigning MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has often been criticized for foul-baiting and getting calls in his favor. His style of play has drawn criticism from fans and opposing players, including Brown himself.
Following the loss to the Celtics, SGA spoke on Brown’s performances against the Thunder this season, and made sure to point at the number of free throws he shot in his post-match press conference.
He’s done a really good job of getting to the free-throw line, especially against us. I think it’s 14 twice. So 28 free throws in two games? Pretty good job. The best players in the history of the game go to the free-throw line. It’s part of the game and most efficient way to score points, statistically.

12 out of Brown’s 31 points on Wednesday came from the free throw line. He missed two shots from the so-called charity stripe. Brown ranks fifth in the league in free throw attempts at 7.5 while SGA is second in the league with nine free throw attempts per game.
Kendrick Perkins predicts Boston Celtics to come out of the East
The Celtics snapped Thunder’s 12-match winning streak on Wednesday. The win improved their record to 48-24 as they find themselves at second place in the Eastern Conference standings. With Jayson Tatum back in the lineup and finding his form, the Celtics will fancy their chances in a wide-open Eastern Conference.

Former NBA champion and Celtics center Kendrick Perkins believes that the team from Boston will come out of the Eastern Conference this season.
It’s no other team in the East has the experience of those guys, they check all the damn boxes. When it comes to if you need a guy to takeover in a 7 game series, Jaylen Brown is here to say I belong in the conversation with the best of them. Jayson Tatum even if he is not 100% healthy, 19-12-7 is pretty damn good eye candy to me.

With ten games to go in the regular-season, the Celtics will be hoping to see Tatum find his legs and conditioning when the playoffs begin. They are scheduled to take on the Atlanta Hawks on Friday night.
