Jaylen Brown clears air around ‘cryptic’ tweet after Derrick White got Team USA Olympics call

Jaylen Brown had a dominant season with the Boston Celtics. He was also crowned the Finals MVP for a great postseason. Even after the success, Brown was not selected for the stacked Team USA for the 2024 Paris Olympics. After that, he was also not selected as the replacement for Kawhi Leonard. Instead another Boston Celtics star, Derrick White was chosen.
After the news of White becoming a member of Team USA became the headlines, Jaylen Brown went on a rampage. He started to make cryptic tweets, especially against Nike. Brown felt Nike was one of the reasons for him not getting selected. In an interview, he stated that everything between him and White is clear and they are on great terms.

Brown had a productive season with the Celtics. He averaged 23 points, 5.5 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game. However, Brown’s impressive resume was not enough to be a part of the stacked Team USA. Derrick White is also a great choice for the team. He is a great defender and can be a great replacement for the defense that Kawhi could have provided. White even made the All-NBA defensive second team.
Brown will have a great motivation for the coming season. The Celtics will be playing in an improved Eastern Conference with new challenges awaiting.
Jaylen Brown sends cryptic tweets directed at Nike
Jaylen won a lot of gold this season from the Eastern Conference MVP to the Finals MVP. Unfortunately, not being selected for Team USA prompted Brown to come up with his own reasons. Especially, against Nike.
Brown felt that his not getting to the Team USA had Nike’s influence. The Celtics star and Nike have a rough relationship. Nike is going to be the sponsor for the kits of Team USA. According to rumors, many thought that Nike was the reason for Brown not being a part of Team USA.
Team USA is a combination of great NBA superstars and veterans. However, the Finals MVP not being selected for the Olympic team must have more to do with White being a better fit than Brown. Hopefully, he will get his chance to play for his country one day.
