Boston Celtics superstar Jaylen Brown deflects Team USA Nike Olympics controversy in ESPYs interview

On one side, there is the reigning NBA Champion and Finals MVP, Jaylen Brown. On the other side are three of his Boston Celtics teammates about to go to Paris to play for Team USA. Naturally, it will pique anyone’s interest as to why he was left out. It certainly piqued everyone’s interest once he started calling out Nike and the Olympics selection committee.

However, all those discussions took place on social media. In real life, Jaylen Brown preferred to take a different route. Before entering the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, former NFL MVP Cam Newton asked Brown about the Team USA situation. To this, the NBA Finals MVP replied by not commenting on the situation.

Jaylen Brown deflected the situation when confronted face-to-face. Ever since teammate Derrick White was called on to replace Kawhi Leonard, Brown has been on a social media barrage. He questioned the decision and pointed at Team USA‘s main sponsor, Nike, for allegedly influencing the decision.

Nike and the Celtics superstar have had issues in the past. Those issues have been touted to be why Team USA picked 3 of his teammates for the Olympics instead of him. That is despite being the best player in the playoffs. Nevertheless, Team USA heads have denied these claims.

Jaylen Brown arrives at ESPYs with an NBA trophy and WNBA stunner

With his superstar teammates busy preparing for the Olympics, Brown represented the NBA Champions at the ESPYs. He and Boston Celtics owner Wyc Grousbeck held the Larry O’Brien trophy in the welcome area. He has become the face of the franchise since holding the NBA Finals MVP trophy.

The superstar had his parents tagging along. Most importantly, he gave a major update to his personal life when he stood with former WNBA stunner Kysre Gondrezick. She is the date he referred to when deflecting the Team USA question.

Brown had her on the duck boats celebrating beside him during the NBA Championship winning parade and on his social media posts holding his Finals MVP trophy. Nevertheless, this is the first time he has referred to Kysre Gondrezick as his date. It further confirms that the NBA Champion is now in a relationship.
