As the new NBA season draws near, basketball players continue to prepare themselves ahead of the start of games with their respective teams. Especially Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown, who has been putting in the work to stay fit and ready for the champions. This was evidenced by his unusual training regimen that recently went viral.

In the latest photos shared by the NBA star via his X page, he could be seen doing training underwater. In one photo, Brown is spotted holding a ball with his left hand and holding a dumbbell on the right one. In another frame, he is seen fully submerged while holding two dumbbells in an upside-down position. And yet in another photo, Jaylen Brown could be seen standing on the pool floor while holding dumbbells in both hands, with his face partly out of the water.

After his snub from the Team USA roster ahead of the Paris Olympics, the shooting guard has used the opportunity to make himself better. And unlike some of his teammates like Derrick White who was selected, he has had enough time to rest and rejuvenate. Moreover, despite the basketball star being on vacation in Manama, Bahrain, he still opted to get back to work.

With the Celtics heading into the next season as defending champions, Brown has been preparing to help the team achieve their goal. Furthermore, the 27-year-old has shown a hunger for more success and wants to ensure they carry out a successful defense of the title.

Jaylen Brown reveals reasons for choosing to train underwater

Following widespread fan reactions over his underwater training images, Jaylen Brown has opened up on why he chose that regimen. The Celtics player was interviewed about his reasons for choosing to do workouts in the water, instead of the surface.

So, what you want to learn in the water is actually to relax when you feel like you're about to drown... And through that, you learn that you have more time than you actually think. So, when you feel it, get comfortable with that feeling and that's like getting comfortable with adversity.

According to Brown, being in the water helps him toughen up and be better prepared for whatever comes his way. He further likens it to being comfortable in the face of obstacles. The NBA star also added that when he goes through this process, it makes him more resilient and dogged.
