With Tatum ruled out and with the trades of Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porzingis, the Celtics broke up their 2024 NBA Championship-winning roster. Hence, many predicted that the Celtics would at best be a play-in team this season.

But to everyone’s surprise, that has not been the case. Led by Brown, the Celtics find themselves in second place in the Eastern Conference standings with a 41-21 record. Now with Tatum back on the court, the Celtics will be optimistic about their chances in a wide-open Eastern Conference.

When the San Antonio Spurs drafted Victor Wembanyama as the number one pick in the 2023 NBA draft, they drafted a generational player they can build around for years to come. In just his third season in the league, Wembanyama is already a top-10 contender for league MVP.

The center was dealt a huge blow last season, which ended his season and could have derailed his NBA career. However, Wembanyama has bounced back strongly this season. While he is a defensive specimen, he has been lethal on offense as well. He is currently averaging 23.8 points, 11.2 rebounds, 2.9 assists, and three blocks.

On his recent live stream, Brown said he did not count Wemby in his best two-way player rankings.

That boy Wemby is a problem. When I say I’m the best two-way player in the league, it’s not counting Wemby. He’s not even human. I’m the best human player.

It is a no-brainer that Victor Wembanyama is an anomaly. The NBA world has never seen a player who is 7’4″, moves like a guard, and can shoot from range. He is a dominant shot-blocker and is a strong frontrunner for the Defensive Player of the Year.

Jaylen Brown never lacks confidence. In less than three full seasons, Wemby has established himself as a generational superstar, unlike any other player we’ve seen before. Hence, it is not surprising for Brown to say the Spurs center is “not human”.

As his praises of Wemby went viral, fans took to the internet to react to his comments across social media.

The majority of the fans agree with Brown’s statements. Wemby has often been called “alien”. The 22-year-old can only get better from here, and the sky is the limit for the young superstar.

Both Brown and Wemby have led their respective teams to second place in their conferences. Brown giving the Frenchman his props is no surprise because Wemby is having a great year while leading the San Antonio Spurs to the second-best record in the league.

However, seven-time champion Robert Horry said Brown would have his vote over Wemby for MVP.

There’s people in the league that does play better than him. Listen, his team is a very good team; he has three other dudes on that team that help carry him. So, he does not get my MVP vote because they were still winning without him. My MVP is Brown. Don’t get mad at me for saying it.

The two stars are scheduled to meet for the second time this season on March 10 at the Frost Bank Center. Wemby and the Spurs came out on top in their previous clash at TD Garden.
