Celtics star Jaylen Brown did not hold back against the Magic and their physicality after the Game 3 loss at the Kia Center.

The Boston Celtics vs the Orlando Magic first-round playoff series just got interesting as the Magic claimed their first win of the series on home turf. With this win, the series is now 2-1 in the Celtics’ favor. However, despite the Magic winning, it is the Celtics’ star Jaylen Brown whose comments went viral
Brown was left frustrated with the Magic’s ‘ugly’ defense throughout the game, with them receiving multiple flagrant fouls in this series. Brown was also injured by Magic player Cole Anthony. In the second quarter, Anthony dragged Brown to the ground, earning Orlando its third flagrant penalty in as many games.
The Celtics player landed awkwardly on his hand and writhed in pain, but he continued to play. Brown revealed later that he dislocated his finger. Notably, Brown gave a clear warning to the Magic side going into Game 4 of this matchup.

There might be a fighter break out or something. It’s starting to feel like it’s not even basketball, and the refs is not controlling their environment. If we want to fight it, we can do that. We can fight to see who goes to the second round.

Jaylen Brown was asked by @GwashburnGlobe about how the Celtics can respond to the Magic’s fouls:

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope‘s hard foul on Jayson Tatum was the Magic’s first infraction of the series. Tatum suffered a wrist injury during the play and had to miss Game 2 as a result. In Game 2, Kristaps Porzingis was bloodied by Goga Bitadze‘s elbow, earning him the second flagrant.
The Magic have responded by stating that they have no intention of reducing their physical play, thus Sunday in Orlando might see an even more intriguing series. After suffering a crushing defeat in Game 3 at the Kia Center, the C’s will try to recover. All eyes will be on Brown and Tatum going into this matchup on Sunday.
Jaylen Brown clarifies his views on the Magic’s physicality in Game 3
By the looks of this game, the Magic were extremely physical against the Celtics at the Kia Center. Brown’s dislocated finger by a Cole Anthony challenge is a clear example of the physicality the C’s had to face. However, the Celtics star is not one to back down. He issues a clear challenge to the Magic side coming into Game 4.
I don’t have a problem with the game being physical. It just seems like when I use my physicality, it goes in the opposite direction. That’s what my frustration was. You are allowing guys to handcheck — let it go on both sides then.

One would expect a much more physical game from the Celtics going into Game 4 at the Kia Center. Brown is not one to back down, especially after watching his teammates give it all on the court. For instance, Porzingis had a nasty cut during Game 2, resulting in his head bleeding, but he still dropped a great performance. NBA fans can expect the same going into Game 4 of this playoff series.
Kristaps Porzingis left disappointed with his Game 3 performance against the Magic
Celtics star Kristaps Porzingis was all over the Magic defense in Game 2, from bleeding on the court to scoring tough baskets. However, in Game 3, things changed. Porzingis was kept quiet throughout the game by the Magic defense, and the Celtics star acknowledged this during the post-game interview.
Kristapps Porzingis said, “It stings, man. I have to take accountability. I played like shit.”

All in all the Celtics as a team were poor in defense on Friday. They will try to recover from a crushing defeat in Game 3, where they concluded with 19 turnovers and only managed 11 points in the third quarter. Thirteen of those TOs were shared by Brown and teammate Jayson Tatum.
