Jaylen Brown and Grant Hill

Jaylen Brown has responded, on X (formerly known as Twitter) to Grant Hill’s comments. He had suggested that Brown’s snub from Team USA was not part of a conspiracy theory.

Hill’s remarks on the Dan Patrick Show implied that Brown’s concerns about the selection process were unfounded and that he enjoyed entertaining conspiracy theories.

I spoke to his agent. I don't know if that was before or after things went out on Twitter, but yeah, I think this idea that there's a conspiracy theory. I always love a good conspiracy theory, but it was really truly a basketball decision and these are tough decisions.

Jaylen Brown then took to Twitter to express his disappointment with Hill’s remarks.

Grant Hill calling me a conspiracy theorist is disappointing I’ve been a VP since I was 21 years old I have a great understanding.

The controversy surrounding Brown’s snub has overshadowed Team USA’s preparations for their opening game against Serbia. Derrick White, Brown’s Celtics teammate, was chosen instead of him, likely due to his versatility and defensive skills.

Furthermore, as Team USA gears up for their first game, they will be looking to put the drama behind them and focus on bringing home the gold. And with White’s ability to complement the team’s existing players, Team USA is confident in their decision and ready to move forward.

Derrick White opens up about conversation with teammate Jaylen Brown

Derrick White’s summer plans were turned upside down when he received a call from USA Basketball asking him to replace Kawhi Leonard on the Paris Olympics team. White was thrilled to join the team and be part of a “once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.”

In a conversation with the Boston Globe, White discussed his relationship with Celtics teammate Jaylen Brown, who was not chosen for the Olympic team. Brown had expressed frustration with the selection process, but White said the two had spoken and cleared the air.

Jaylen gave me a call and I was like, ‘Yeah, you didn’t need to call me. I know we’re good. He gave me a call and said he just wanted to clear things up and I told him we’re all good. Never any problem or issue with us, for sure. He’s a hell of a player and I’ve never had a bad thing to say about JB.
Derrick White said to the Boston Globe

The two are now focused on their respective goals, with White aiming to help Team USA win gold and Brown preparing for the upcoming Celtics season. Despite the unexpected twist, White is grateful for the opportunity and excited to be part of the Olympic experience.
