Jaylen Brown broke through as one of the best players in the NBA after a stellar playoff campaign on his way to leading the Boston Celtics to the 2024 NBA championship.
Winning the Eastern Conference Finals, as well as the NBA Finals MVP, was a crowning achievement for the small forward, who has always been considered the second-best player on the team.
The Celtics probably saw it beforehand, which is why they handed him the NBA’s first nearly $300 million contract. The idea was to have the pair of Brown and superstar Jayson Tatum lead them to more titles.
Last season, that idea became moot after they were unable to recapture their championship-winning form when playing against the New York Knicks. Thereafter, Tatum’s Achilles tear made it worse.
Brown was tasked with leading the Celtics’ charge, but he, too, was apparently dealing with an injury and was not playing to his best. Now, the 28-year-old is back and healthy and decided to take the time to visit his alma mater.
A video surfaced on Barry Bowdre Jr.‘s social media pages showing him going up against their most popular graduate. The clip shows the Wheeler High School’s assistant principal guarding the Celtics swingman.
Bowdre Jr. moved to his right, essentially stopping the 6′ 6″ forward from going to his left. Understanding that he did not space to his left, Jaylen Brown dribbled to his right.
From playing a lil defense defense to getting dunked on….life comes atcha fast 😭😭😭 @FCHWPO pic.twitter.com/VX1oNS12hW

Seeing this, Barry Bowdre Jr. used both his hands to strip the ball out of the NBA champions’ hands, sending the students inside the court into a frenzy.
Fans call out Jaylen Brown for getting revenge on principal
Basketball fans watching the clip so far were already rolling on the floor knowing the assistant principal cum athletic director watched Jaylen Brown‘s tape before guarding him.
They believe he was aware of the Boston Celtics star’s weakness going to his left. They felt this was an embarrassment for the Georgia native. But what he did next infuriated them.
Bowdre Jr. went on to miss his layup. Once the NBA star gathered the rebound, he asked for students to clear the court, pulled the assistant principal towards the left, hesitated, and then took off to his right to throw down his usual one-handed tomahawk dunks.
Many felt the superstar didn’t have to take revenge on the school staff. They felt he was embarrassed by Bowdre Jr., prompting him to seek retribution. Check out examples of those reactions below.

Back in my day if you dribbled after this that was either a "Carry" or a "Double Dribble"… pic.twitter.com/eGSE3JcZC1

Jaylen Brown was all smiles when Bowdre Jr. stole the ball out of him, and was also all smiles when he dunked. It was all a matter of fun, but fans believe the Celtics star should have given the assistant principal his win.
New details emerge in Jaylen Brown’s father’s arrest
Jaylen Brown’s father, Marselles Brown, was arrested after he allegedly stabbed another person over a parking dispute. Now, new details have emerged where Brown’s lawyers claimed the supposed victim pistol-whipped their client.

TMZ spoke to officers investigating the incident. They were made aware that Marselles Brown suffered scrapes on his knees, a broken toe, and an abrasion on his right cheek.
It seems the former professional boxer used the last injury to claim that youth football coach Cross Tupuola attacked him with a gun. However, witnesses say otherwise.
Officials also spoke with several witnesses who claim they saw the whole thing … and one even graphically claimed he could see the victim’s “insides hanging out” when he lifted the front of his shirt. Several witnesses also state Brown did not act in self-defense … and struck Tupuola first.
TMZ reported in their article

The weapon used by the Celtics superstar’s father is yet to be recovered. However, as per witness statements and the blood splattered on other cars and at the scene point, the blame seems to be squarely pointed towards the 7-foot-tall boxer.
