In Short
  • Jaylen Brown is considering legal action against Beverly Hills PD after they shut down his private promotional event.
  • The police issued an apology, but Brown claims it was insincere and indicative of targeting him and his brand.
  • Brown expressed frustration over the situation, stating it embarrassed his brand and team during NBA All-Star Weekend.

After the All-Star weekend, Jaylen Brown dominated the Boston Celtics’ game against the Golden State Warriors with a triple-double, as he and his teammates resumed the winning streak that has made them the second-best team in the East.

His performance was that of a player on a mission, as he has been out to prove that he is worthy of being labeled as one of the best in the league.

However, it seems that triple-double against the Warriors in front of their home fans was him playing angry, after the Beverly Hills Police Department shut down his 741 Performance promotional event.

When they arrived, Brown tried to reason with them that it was a private event. Yet, they forced the superstar to end the event. Then, later, they issued an apology.

But the 2024 Finals MVP was not happy and went on a tirade, calling the city out for its lack of accountability and the losses he incurred due to their misjudgment. Now he is contemplating legal action.

I’m not a legality type of pursuing guy, but you embarrassed my brand and my team. And I think that is unfair. And for you to continue to tell untruths in your apology statement, I feel offended by it. I will circle back with my team this weekend, and we will make a decision.

The journalist added in his article that Jaylen Brown felt all the proof pointed towards the possibility of Beverly Hills PD targeting him and his brand.

Jaylen Brown doubles down on targeting by Beverly Hills PD

Naturally, the news of Beverly Hills PD shutting down Jaylen Brown’s private event to promote his 741 Performance sneaker brand was going to spread. That is why reporters clamored after the Celtics’ game to get his opinion.

Included in the apology, they said that there were some other violations. They never entered the premises, so they wouldn’t even know… It’s hard to not say that we weren’t being targeted, I wasn’t being targeted, or my brand wasn’t being targeted.

Jaylen Brown said

This was the California Golden Bears alum’s response when asked about the police department’s official apology. He then detailed how it was evident that the officers at the scene did not have a valid reason.

Their apology clarified it, but again, Brown pointed at their use of ‘code violations,’ when there were clearly none. He believes all of this is clear to him, that he and his brand were being targeted.

If he does continue to seek guidance and believes that he will force a settlement out of the City of Beverly Hills, Jaylen Brown could be in the news for a long time.

Jaylen Brown talks trash about former teammates

Pivoting from the possibility of Jaylen Brown entering into a legal battle, the superstar also has a job with the Boston Celtics, and that is to focus on continuing their winning run.

Those guys helped us win a championship in 2024, so there’s no better way to respect them than by giving them the belt tonight.

Jaylen Brown said

This was the 29-year-old’s reply when NBA on Prime’s Allie Clifton asked him how he felt going up against former teammates Al Horford and Kristaps Porzingis, who are both on the Golden State Warriors.

It seems Brown enjoyed defeating them and talked a little bit of trash, even though he was all smiles meeting them both before and after the game.

His response was not disrespectful. Rather, it was the Celtics star giving them their flowers, while also letting them know that he still has the upper hand over them.
