Jaylen Brown’s Finals MVP performance forced Mavs to push Luka Doncic out, claims analyst
NBA insider Marc J. Spears didn’t hold back in criticizing new Lakers star Luka Doncic over his recent trade.

Luka Doncic and Jaylen Brown
Weeks after the Luka Doncic-Anthony Davis trade, NBA analysts and insiders are still dissecting how it unfolded. Theories continue to circulate about Doncic’s move from the Mavericks to the Lakers, and now, NBA insider Marc Spears has shared new details on Dallas’ decision to trade him.
In a highly anticipated game, the Los Angeles Lakers will take on the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday. Their recent performances have reinforced their case as legitimate NBA championship contenders.
The Lakers success has been greatly attributed to Luka Doncic’s ability to adapt quickly. Notably, per Spears, the Mavs’ decision to let go of Luka, the team’s face, was motivated by Boston Celtics forward Jaylen Brown.
What he (Jaylen Brown) did to Luka in the Finals, shutting him down, guarding him full court, making it unbearable offensively, led Dallas to questioning Luka as the leader of the team, and questioning whether he was in shape or not.

Brown won Finals MVP after leading the Celtics to a five-game series triumph over the Mavericks.
The Mavs’ general manager, Nico Harrison, earlier said that he thought AD was a better cultural match for the organization than the 25-year-old Slovenian. This was irrespective of Spears’ viewpoint. However, many Mavs fans are still not over the trade deal and blame Harrison for it to date.
Beyond helping the Celtics win a title, Jaylen Brown’s domination in the NBA Finals is said to have had a long-lasting effect. In addition, the Mavericks started to have their doubts. This was after witnessing Luka Doncic falter against Brown’s superior defensive pressure.
Also, the startling deal resulted from the front office’s decision. That was to take a different approach after seeing a chance for change.
Jason Kidd raved about former player Luka Doncic ahead of their matchup
On Tuesday, Luka Doncic will play his first game against his former team. Jason Kidd, the coach of the Mavericks, has to get his players ready to try to defend Doncic. This is for the first time in his coaching career. Notably, Kidd took some time to first praise his former star, before getting into the details of the match.
This game is going to come and go, and understand that he’s going to be one of the best players in the world, and the Lakers are fortunate to have him.

In addition, Kidd noted that Max Christie and Anthony Davis, who were both traded to Dallas in return for Doncic, were among the many players who had an emotional stake in the game.
However, Davis is out to due injury and will miss this matchup against his former side. That said, all eyes move on the much-anticipated Lakers-Mavericks game on Tuesday.
