In the game against the Toronto Raptors, things just weren’t working out for Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. Boston’s dynamic duo had a poor shooting night which led to the Celtics’ shocking loss against the 13th-seeded team. In a surprising turn of events, fans found a reason for the disappointing outing as Tatum and Brown were found partying the night before with Top5.
Canadian rapper Top5 posted pictures with both Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown on his Instagram stories. The rapper even wrote ‘my GG’ for Tatum. Sensing the atmosphere, the pictures quickly went viral after the embarrassing loss of Boston and also considering Top5’s controversial history. It has only been a few months since the rapper’s been out of prison.
Top5 was charged with first-degree murder in 2021 and was in custody for three years. Hence, fans were somewhat concerned about the basketball stars spending time with the rapper. The rapper also has close ties with Drake as it was rumored that the Toronto rapper paid the lawyer fees for Top5’s case. The duo even together attended the Warriors game against the Raptors a night prior.

Fans put the two and two together for pinning the blame for the Celtics’ loss. Tatum scored 16 points with 33% shooting from the field. Brown, on the other hand, was worse with 10 points while shooting 4/16 from the field. The drastic change in the outcome from the previous Celtics-Raptors game caused the outburst of reactions.
Top5 hanging out with Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown sent the NBA world into a frenzy
After winning 125-71 the last time, fans were taken aback while watching the Celtics fall in front of the Raptors. This is why the game followers started discussing Tatum and Brown’s meeting with Top5. Fans even started digging the rapper’s connection with Drake to the team ironically losing to Raptors in Toronto. Tatum, notably, had ranked Drake among his top 5 rappers over Kendrick Lamar.
Drake’s proclaimed rival, Kendrick Lamar mentioned Top5 in his Grammy-winning ‘family ties’. Top5 also made his position clear in the beef when he threatened Lamar not even a month after getting out of prison. So fans took the Tatum-Brown meet-up with Top5 as a sign of their ‘side’ in the beef. Here’s what fans on Twitter had to say.

Despite being the 2nd seeds in the Eastern Conference, the Celtics have been inconsistent. The team has lost two of their last five games. After their unexpected loss against Toronto, the team has to get back on track to maintain their position in the East.
