Jayson Tatum thinks his Celtics team can beat current Team USA
After helping the Boston Celtics win their 18th Title, Jayson Tatum has now joined Team USA. Training for their participation in the Paris Olympics, the Boston Celtics guard is playing alongside the most experienced and elite players handpicked from the country.
Having played against players like Stephen Curry, Lebron James, and Kevin Durant, the Celtics guard is now playing with them as a team. When asked in an interview about who would win in a matchup of the championship-winning Boston lineup or the current Team USA, Tatum replied:
I will ride with the guys I just played 10 months of the basketball team. I love this team a little bit more even though Team USA has one of the greatest ever to play. We are locked in and I am taking my team against whoever.Jason Tatum said
To compare the Celtics roster with the current USA team is a bit far-fetched. The USA team is filled with superstars who have changed the basketball picture over the last two decades. Whether it’s LeBron James’ fierce paint game or Stephen Curry’s long-range three-pointers, Team USA has the best. Jayson Tatum’s utmost confidence in the Celtics lineup against the legendary USA team is quite commendable.
Having players like Jaylen Brown, Kristaps Porzingis, and Jayson Tatum face off against Curry, Durant, and James would be a tough matchup. Fresh off winning the NBA title, the Celtics team is more locked in and believes in each other more than ever, mentioned Tatum. If such a matchup ever happens in the future, with this Celtics lineup taking on the current USA team, it will be a great show to watch.
Jayson Tatum calls out NBA critics to refer to him as NBA Champion
Looking at current NBA team lineups, it is not easy to make it to the NBA finals. Teams have fiercely upgraded their rosters by acquiring as many star players as possible, leading to many critics voicing their opinions.
After winning the NBA title in 2024, Jayson Tatum has indefinitely silenced his critics by showing them what he is capable of. Leading his Celtics team to a title against the Mavericks, Tatum’s role was more than just that of a power forward. Despite enduring unending scrutiny from critics, Tatum and his Celtics won the NBA title and called out his detractors during a recent appearance on the Undisputed show.
Being at the top of many discussions and debates, now I have done something they can't debate, I have won a championship. Now they always got to refer to me as a NBA Champion.Jayson Tatum said
Having won the highest honor in the NBA, the Celtics forward has defied all the negative criticism regarding him and his abilities. Now, with the title under his belt, Tatum wants to be acknowledged for all that he has accomplished. Even though the scrutiny might never end, he will now be known for winning the title alongside his underdog team.
