“Drug test all of them!” Jayson Tatum and Celtics opening night BANGER brings a cheeky response from Knicks star
Josh Hart was in disbelief over what he witnessed on the road during the opening day of the 2024-25 NBA season.
Josh Hart and Jayson Tatum
The Boston Celtics sent a strong message to the rest of the NBA by winning their season opener against the New York Knicks, picking up right where they left off after capturing the 2024 title. With a commanding 132-109 victory at TD Garden, the defending champs set the tone for the season.
However, it was Knicks star Josh Hart who caught the NBA community’s attention despite the loss. The wing for the Knicks felt the NBA ought to investigate the Celtics’ atrocious performance following the lopsided defeat.
Hart could not believe what he witnessed away from home court on the opening day of the 2024-25 NBA season. This is because the Celtics made 29 three-pointers in a single match, tying an NBA record in the process.
This was somewhat of a hilarious reaction from Hart, but he also acknowledged the Celtics’ performance.

In addition, Jayson Tatum vented his Olympic frustrations by scoring 37 points on a scorching 8-11 from three, with no championship hangover in sight. Despite Hart’s funny remarks, it appears that Tatum’s modification of his jump shot succeeded and resolved the problem. It did not look like Tatum made use of any ‘drugs’ for the game.
Knicks’ new additions clueless against the red-hot Celtics
The 2024 offseason saw significant changes for the New York Knicks. They acquired Minnesota Timberwolves star Karl-Anthony Towns and also traded in former Brooklyn Nets forward Mikal Bridges. However, these changes weren’t enough to contain the Boston Celtics on the opening day of the new season.
These stars were clueless about the Celtics’ monstrous attack. They got completely dominated from the start of the game. This is mainly due to many of the Knicks players’ roles still not being defined.

Their star players Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart played fewer minutes compared to the new addition, Bridges. This showcased that the management needs to define the roles of each player as the season progresses.
Despite all this one cannot deny, that the Knicks had a great offensive game. The Knicks’ final shooting percentage turned out to be 55.1%, over five points better than the Celtics. With 22 points each, Miles McBride and Brunson led the scoring, but KAT only managed 12 points on five of nine shots.
