Jayson Tatum directs pass to Payton Pritchard for half-time buzzer-beater shows Boston Celtics chemistry winning 18th NBA title
When the Dallas Mavericks blew the Boston Celtics out of their arena in Game 4, many questioned if they found a way to win over the now most storied franchise in NBA history. Instead, it was merely a bad game from the men in green. They were locked in during today’s game 5 to win the 18th NBA title for their franchise. Chemistry is one of the most important components of a championship-winning team. On one play the chemistry between the team was evident when Jayson Tatum directed the ball to go to Payton Pritchard.
When Luka Doncic missed his free throw, there were 4 seconds left in the half as Al Horford grabbed the rebound. Knowing that they could attempt a last-second shot, Jayson Tatum directed Horford to throw the ball to Payton Pritchard. Pritchard went on to dribble the ball and then launch a shot from the half-way point. The ball went in, causing the fans in TD Garden to erupt. This was a shot that was a direct result of their chemistry as a team.

Tatum himself was open and Al Horford’s first reaction after grabbing the rebound was to pass it to his best scorer. Instead, Tatum directing the ball to Pritchard shows that the superstar knew who the best half-line shooter is on their team.
That speaks volumes of the trust the leaders have in the role players. That trust has helped them take the mantle of the most-winning franchise in NBA history. Locker room chemistry paves the way for championships.

Time and again, Jayson Tatum was criticized for not stepping up and being a leader. With the half-time beating shot from his Boston Celtics teammate, his leadership was evident. His leadership has netted him his 1st NBA title. An accomplishment that his son is proud of.
