The Boston Celtics defeated the Indiana Pacers, 133-128 in a thrilling encounter in game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals. Notably, the Celtics’ star duo Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown stepped up in game 1 and made sure that the Celtics led the series in overtime.

In Game 1 of the NBA playoff Finals, Brown put the entire city of Boston on his back. The Celtics defeated the Indiana Pacers in overtime because Brown hit a triple with seconds left in the fourth quarter. Interestingly, Tatum shared his views on Brown’s clutch 3-pointer in the post-match press conference. He claimed that the shot made by Brown was “wild.”

In addition, when the Pacers led 117-114 with possession, the game appeared to be out of reach for the Celtics. A turnover and Brown’s three-pointer later, Boston was able to pull off an overtime victory. Brown’s basket in the fourth quarter swung the tide decisively to the advantage of the Celtics, who won. Tatum also dropped a huge shot in overtime to help secure the victory.

The Indiana Pacers were on the verge of securing a win in game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals. However, the Boston Celtics’ Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum had different plans. Brown came in clutch in the final seconds of the game, scoring a 3-pointer that sent the game into overtime.

This changed the momentum of the game and the Celtics took over, with Tatum leading the charge in the overtime. Overall, Tatum and Brown outclassed the Pacers. Tatum dropped 36 points, 12 rebounds, and 4 assists whereas Brown dropped 26 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists on the Pacers respectively.

With the Celtics leading game 1, the Pacers will be looking to make amends in the next matchup of the NBA playoff finals. In addition, the next matchup between the Boston Celtics and the Indiana Pacers will take place on Thursday, May 24.
