The Boston Celtics star man Jayson Tatum has been making headlines lately after he recently revealed his 4th-grade goals he wrote to himself. Notably, Tatum revealed that he wanted to be traded to the Los Angeles Lakers in his “4th-grade goals” post on his Instagram account. In addition, Tatum also set a goal of playing for his national basketball side, which has eventually become true.
It’s interesting to note, that Tatum never addressed the Celtics, preferring to picture himself as a member of the Lakers and Phoenix Suns. Tatum’s mention of the Lakers certainly comes from his love for his basketball idol, the late Kobe Bryant, who Tatum grew up idolizing. In addition, the Lakers had a chance to snap up Tatum in the 2017 NBA Draft but chose Lonzo Ball instead.
Also, the Suns did not choose the Celtics star in the 2017 NBA Draft, but his prediction was not that off. Just before Phoenix was able to use its pick, Boston selected him with the third overall choice in the 2017 NBA Draft. The Suns would have acquired him instead of Josh Jackson, who is currently out of the league if the Celtics had chosen poorly to pass on him.
On the Contrary, Tatum was spot-on with his prediction regarding him entering the NBA at age 19. Interestingly, Tatum demonstrated his eligibility for the professional levels with just one year at Duke. After fulfilling most of his 4th-grade goals, it now remains to be seen how Tatum will perform with Team USA in the upcoming 2024 Paris Olympics.
Jayson Tatum makes bold claim regarding being “the face of the league”
Jayson Tatum has been one of the most exciting players in the NBA for the Boston Celtics and also for his nation, claiming a gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics. Notably, the Celtics star made a bold claim recently regarding being the next “face of the league” after the likes of Lebron James, Stephen Curry, and Kevin Durant decided to end their careers.
I knew that there are a lot of conversations to be had of who’s the next face or who’s the best player who’s going to replace (LeBron James) and (Kevin Durant) and those guys, You win, you win a championship, you win multiple, So I knew that this is how I start to separate myself from whoever they think I’m in the same conversation as.Jayson Tatum on the Celtics Lab Podcast said
On the contrary, the NBA’s best players are currently preparing for the 2024 Paris Olympics with the likes of James, Tatum, Curry, Durant, and others coming to play together for their nation.
