Winning a championship had been at the top of Boston Celtics player Jayson Tatum‘s bucket list for years, and he finally accomplished it this past season. However, the five-time All-Star acknowledges that the greatest players in NBA history never gave up on winning after winning one title. Instead, he wants more. Recently, Tatum opened up on the Celtics’ hunger to defend the title ahead of the new NBA season.

Tatum has been one of the most consistent players for the Celtics over the years. He is also the highest-paid player on the roster for his side. Tatum made his intentions clear in a recent interview regarding his team ahead of the 2024-25 NBA season. He claimed to ‘not skip any steps’ if they were to win the NBA title once again.

To come into the next season and say 'were just going to do it again' would be insensitive. A lot has to go right...Let’s start over, let’s get better and not skip any steps. That’s why we were successful last season.

One of the Boston Celtics’ most consistent players in the NBA thus far has been Jayson Tatum. Tatum’s tenacity was rewarded when the Celtics captured the prestigious 2024 NBA championship. Recently, Tatum informed reporters on ESPN that the turmoil and rumors around him had come to an “end” after winning the title.

There’s still a lot of things I guess they can debate. But now I’ve done something that they can’t debate: I’ve won a championship. Having that under my belt, like obviously it’s still conversations to be had or whatever people want to say, but they always got to refer to me as an NBA champion.
