The New York Yankees kept their 2025 season with an important 4-3 win over the Boston Red Sox on Wednesday. After the game, Jazz Chisholm Jr. cleared the air between him and manager Aaron Boone and expressed that there was never a “problem” between the two of them.

Boone shocked the MLB fandom on Tuesday with his lineup. He would bench Chisholm Jr. and place Amed Rosario at 2nd base in his position. Rosario, a right-handed hitter, was 6-for-9 against Garrett Crochet in his career. Meanwhile, Chisholm Jr. was 0-for-4 against him.

Rosario ended up going 0-for-3 in the first game of the Wild Card series. He would later get replaced by Chisholm Jr. later on in the game.

The Yankees’ 2nd baseman, however, was not pleased with the decision of his manager to bench him. He would vent his frustrations in the clubhouse while speaking with the reporters later on.

On Wednesday, the 2-time All-Star was back in the lineup. He was involved in the biggest moment of Game 2.

With the game tied at 3-3 in the bottom of the 8th inning with two outs, Austin Wells would hit a line drive down the right field line. Chisholm Jr., who had already taken off from first base to steal the 2nd, would race across the bases. He would show off his speed and managed to beat the tag at home plate to put the Yankees 4-3 up.

This proved crucial as the Yankees were able to hold on to their lead and emerged as 4-3 winners. They thus forced Game 3 and kept their season alive.

After the game, the 27-year-old was asked whether there was some tension between him and Boone. He would shake his head and claimed that he stands behind every decision of Boone.

There was never a problem between me and Aaron Boone. He’s been my manager all year, and I’ve stood behind him all year. We always have disagreements. I mean, I played third base this year, and we had a little bit of a disagreement in that. But at the end of the day, I always stand with Boonie (Boone) because he understands where I come from.
