The torpedo bats used by the New York Yankees have become a massive point of debate. While the usage of it is legal, many, like $100 million star Dave Portnoy, are not fans of it and have urged for its ban. Yankees star Jazz Chisholm Jr. hit back at them and clowned Portnoy on social media.
The newly designed torpedo bats sees more wood being moved into the label part of the bat. This new design has brought success for the players with Chisholm Jr. being 5-for-12 this season so far with 3 home runs.
In the first series against the Milwaukee Brewers, the Yankees lived up to their nickname of Bronx Bombers. The team hit 15 home runs in the span of 3 games, with 9 of them coming in the 20-9 demolition on Saturday.
Brewers pitcher Trevor Megill would later hit out at the Yankees for this. While he did admit that it was a “genius” idea, he called it “terrible” for baseball and claimed that the league would not take any action against it, as it was the Yankees who did this.
Barstool Sports owner and a Boston Red Sox fan, Dave Portnoy, dropped a two-and-a-half-minute rant on X and accused the Yankees of “cheating“. During the video, he pointed out his high school career and called himself a “triple crown winner” who “mashed” home runs while expressing his frustrations with the new bat designs.

An X user then came to the defense of Portnoy and called out Chisholm Jr. The baseball star continued his trolling and fired back at the user and Portnoy again.

Jazz Chisholm Jr. defends Aaron Judge amidst torpedo bat controversy
As the new torpedo designed bats caused a massive stir among fans on social media, the name of Aaron Judge also came into the mix. In the midst of this controversy, Jazz Chisholm Jr. defended his teammate and pointed out that he never used them.

Judge, the reigning American League MVP, stole the show in the 20-9 hammering of the Brewers. He hit 3 home runs, including a grand slam, as the Yankees fired the ball out of the park several times in that game.
After the controversy came out, Judge denied the usage of this bat and claimed that he would use them while highlighting his previous career achievements. Despite that, there were some who still believe that he used them.
Seeing the name of his teammate being dragged into this, Chisholm Jr. came to his defense. He pointed out Judge’s track-record to support his claim.
