The game between the New York Yankees and the Houston Astros ended with some drama. Following a debatable strikeout call by Umpire Brian Walsh to end the game, Jazz Chisholm Jr. lost it and crashed into the official.
Following a 7-1 win on Tuesday, the Yankees were looking for their 9th successive win in Houston against the Astros. The Bronx Bombers entered the top of the 9th inning trailing the hosts 8-4. A 3-run home run from Cody Bellinger cut the deficit to 1 run.
Chisholm Jr., who has been in fine form at the plate in recent days, would step in. He would manage to work a 3-2 full count against Bryan Abreu. The Astros’ relief pitcher would then throw a pitch that seemed to be out of the zone.
Instead of being called a ball, which would have walked Chisholm Jr., the umpire would call it a strike. As it was ruled the third strike, the 27-year-old hitter was called out on strikes, and the game came to an end.
The 2-time MLB All-Star was left livid with this decision. He would throw away his bat and helmet and argued with Walsh. Even after the umpire walked away from the scene, Chisholm Jr. kept on arguing.

Jazz Chisholm Jr. called the Yankees a “super team” ahead of their hectic showdown
With the MLB regular season in its final month, the race for the playoffs has intensified. Ahead of their hectic showdown against some of the American League contending teams, Jazz Chisholm Jr. dropped a bold claim regarding the New York Yankees and labeled them as a “super team“.

The Yankees, who started the season strong, would suffer a midseason slump. While the team has once again found its top gear, they have some tough matches coming its way.
On Thursday, the Yankees and Astros will face off in the rubber match, aiming to secure the series win. After that, the Yankees take on the Toronto Blue Jays, the Detroit Tigers, and the Boston Red Sox. They do not have a winning record against any of them this year.
Despite this, Chisholm Jr. believes his team is a super team and hyped up his teammates.
We all know that this is a super team. We’ve got four MVPs on this team. We’ve got a bunch of other superstars on this team too… We know we’ve got to get to the playoffs, and we’re doing our best to do that.

With their loss on Wednesday and the win of the Blue Jays, the gap between the two teams for the first spot in the AL East is up to 3.5 games. The upcoming series between them could become a deciding factor in who takes home the division title.
