The New York Yankees have picked up form at the perfect time. On Saturday, they took down their arch rivals, the Boston Red Sox, with a 5-3 score and won the series. After the game, Jazz Chisholm Jr. dubbed his side the “best team” in the league.

The Bronx Bombers had a dip in form in the middle of the season. However, in the past few days, they have started to fire once again.

In the game on Saturday at Fenway Park, Chisholm Jr. was the offensive hero for the team. The 2-time MLB All-Star crushed his 29th home run of the season and finished the day with 3 hits, 3 RBIs, and one run scored.

Chisholm Jr. himself is having an exceptional year. With 30 stolen bases to his name, he needs one more home run to reach the 30-30 club.

With his team flying high with confidence, the infielder claimed that they are the ones to beat in the American League at the moment.

We’re the best team in the league. Any team that thinks they’re better than us, they should know that when we step on the field, we’re coming with relentlessness. We’re coming to step on necks. We’re not here to play around.

Jazz Chisholm Jr. said as per YES Network

The Yankees have had the best record in the entire league since August 11. Following their 7-1 loss against the Houston Astros at Yankee Stadium, they have a 21-9 record. This has seen their overall record go from 62-56 to 83-65.

The Red Sox had the number of the Yankees up until this series. With two losses, the Boston-based side now face the prospect of getting swept by their rivals in the closing stages of the season.

Yankees successfully navigate tough stretch against playoff contending teams

The New York Yankees started the season strongly but then suffered a slump in form. The 27-time World Series winners have bounced back in strong fashion. With a win on Saturday, they have successfully navigated a tough stretch against playoff-contending teams.

After winning 3 out of the 4 games against the Chicago White Sox, the Yankees started a 12-game stretch that saw them face the Houston Astros, the Toronto Blue Jays, the Detroit Tigers, and the Boston Red Sox.

The Bombers first took down the Astros by winning 2 of the 3 against them. They then faced off against their division leaders, the Blue Jays.

Like the Red Sox, the Canadian side also had the number of the Yankees this season. They would win the opening game 7-1 with a dominating performance. The Yankees bounced back and won 2 straight games, 3-1 and 4-3 respectively, to take the series win.

The Tigers would then pounce on the Yankees in the opening two games of the series and outscored them 23-2 to win the series. They, however, were unable to complete the sweep as the Yankees won 9-3 on the 24th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.

The Yanks have outscored the Red Sox 9-4 in two games at Fenway Park. They have a 7-4 record in this stretch, and a win on Sunday will complete a 3-game series sweep of the Red Sox and put them in a commanding position.

They are still 2.5 games behind the Blue Jays in the AL East division standings. However, they have a 2.5-game lead at the top of the AL Wild Card standings. After this series, they will turn their attention towards the Minnesota Twins, who were eliminated from playoff contention on Saturday.
