New York Yankees center fielder Jazz Chisholm Jr. is placed on 10-day IL after spraining his left elbow in a game against the Chicago White Sox. According to reports infielder Oswald Peraza and right-hander Will Warren have been called from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to fill in Chisholm’s spot.

Chisholm underwent an MRI on Tuesday. However, his dugout X-ray reports were clear, according to manager Aaron Boone. Since his trade from the Miami Marlins, Chisholm has proved himself a force within the Bronx.

Aaron Boone opens up about roster changes following Jazz Chisholm Jr.’s injury

Following Jazz Chisholm Jr.’s injury, New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone has called Oswald Peraza and right-hander Will Warren from the minors. Even after the injury, Chisholm remained in the dugout and was seen rotating his arm and shoulder between the innings. He admitted that initially, he did not feel any pain, mostly due to “my adrenaline was still going on”, but later he didn’t feel right.

Chisholm being in IL will surely hurt the lineup for the time being, but the Yankees are already on their way to strategizing for the next couple of matches. Boone expressed that within a few weeks of Chisholm being in the Bronx, “he’s been really impactful for us.”

It’s certainly tough to not have him in there, with what he’s meant to this team already.

Within 61 plate appearances, Chisholm has already recorded a solid score of 7 home runs, and 5 stolen bases, with 1.062 OPS. Till his return, the team will “mix and match” to see what works the best given the current situation.
