NY Yankees center fielder and second baseman Jazz Chisholm Jr. wowed the fans with his debut and game style against the Boston Red Sox and Philadelphia Phillies. In both the games, the team won by 8-2 and a 14-4 record, winning consecutive games after a long slump.
Furthermore, his debut gained the spotlight as he donned the iconic No.13 jersey which was famously worn by Yankees star Alex Rodriguez. He said he “adored” A-Rod as a kid and “it was only right to the number.”
He may have chosen No.2 which he used to wear with the Miami Marlins, but the jersey has already been retired for Derek Jeter, his idol. In his earlier team, he played in the center field, and since the trade, he said he did not mind where he was playing.
Chisholm Jr. expressed that he can play in any position selected by the team if it can help win the games. Aaron Boone too admitted that for now, they’ll try out different formations to see which is the most effective.
...I just feel like I could go and play anywhere and help my team win you know what I mean? So for me it’s just going somewhere, especially a winning team and they’re asking me to go somewhere to help them win, I’m definitely gonna go out there and do it.Jazz Chisholm Jr. on X.

Contrary to his reply, Gleyber Torres’s answer to the position switch created a buzz on social media. When manager Aaron Boone asked about seeing reps at third base, he was hesitant saying he enjoyed playing where he is currently placed.

Moreover, he used Aaron Judge’s bat but later said, “Definitely not gonna use that again tomorrow, that bat was so heavy!” “Every kid dreams of being a Yankee” and he’s grateful that he got to be in the same team as his idol.
“He’s a special athlete” – Aaron Boone on Jazz Chisholm Jr
Jazz Chisholm Jr. enjoyed a flawless debut as a member of the New York Yankees. He recorded two home runs, including one off Phillies star pitcher Zack Wheeler in their 14-4 win. Not to mention, Aaron Boone is very satisfied with the results of the blockbuster trade.
He said that Chisholm Jr. is a “special athlete” and with all the skills and ability he has, Chisholm Jr. can easily adapt to any formation and boost the team to victory. Surely, the team’s offensive strength already got that boost by adding the Bahamian baseball player to the roster.
He’s a guy who came up as a shortstop, so I feel like he has all the skills and ability to be able to handle it. There may be some growing pains that we’ve got to go through here, we’ve got to live with that and work alongside him.Aaron Boone as per Bryan Hoch of MLB.com.
