Despite not being in the lineup for the Little League Classic, Jazz Chisholm Jr. enjoyed the game like no other. Not only did he acquire a “little brother”, he also made sure to cheer up his teammates on the diamond during the game.

Chisholm initiated a New York Yankees roll call for Anthony Volpe from the stands, as the fans shortly joined in. Volpe acknowledged the call from his teammate and fans, as he showed off Chisholm’s step-back jumper on the field.

He even acquired a “little brother” as Russell McGee told Jazz Chisholm Jr., “You’re my favorite player”. The initiated texts, and soon Chisholm found himself drawn to the young baseballer. He was reminded of CC Sabathia, Dom Smith, and J.P. Crawford when they took care of the 26-year-old after his debut in MLB.

When I first got into professional baseball, CC [Sabathia] made me like his little brother…Dom Smith, J.P. Crawford, guys like that; they’ve always been taking care of me.
Jazz Chisholm Jr. as per Bryan Hoch of MLB.com.

He wanted to do the same and took Russell McGee under his wings. He talked about how the three baseball stars would always pick up his calls whenever he needed to speak to them and would take care of him like their own brother.

Although Yankees manager Aaron Boone was confident in the 31-year-old’s turnaround, Holmes’ slump season continues. While he started the season with a bash, he later failed to close games in clutch moments. Boone stated,

Look, anytime you lose, it sucks. It’s hard traveling home now and you’re right there, ready to grab two out of three on a weekend where you didn’t score a lot of runs. That’s part of the game, part of the grind…
Aaron Boone as per Bryan Hoch of MLB.com.

However, Boone wants to focus on the brighter side and keep the memories and experiences from the Little League Classic. With Jazz Chisholm Jr. out of the lineup for 10 days, the Yankees are struggling to get the perfect roster till Chisholm’s return.

They hope to be part of the playoff games, but their inconsistent win records have the fans frustrated and worried about the outcome. On the other hand, there are injured players like Chisholm in IL and Holmes whose performance has been shaky for a while now.
