On Tuesday, Jazz Chisholm Jr. once again had some issues with Kansas City Royals’ Maikel Garcia. The New York Yankees star got tagged hard at third base by Garcia. Chisholm Jr. would later tear into him, which did not sit well with the fans.

Chisholm Jr. has become public enemy No.1 in Kansas following his comments last year. The Royals and the Yankees met each other in the American League Division Series (ALDS) in 2024. After losing Game 2 of that series, the Yankees star claimed that the Royals “got lucky“.

Things heated up between Garcia and Chisholm Jr. last year in this series. After the Yankees won the series in Game 4, Chisholm Jr. claimed that Garcia had tried to injure Anthony Volpe, the Yankees’ shortstop.

The crowd at the Kauffman Stadium in Kansas would rain down heavy boos each time Chisholm Jr. took to the batter’s box. Later in the game, he would try to steal third base and get into a scoring position.

Royals’ catcher Freddy Fermin would throw the ball towards Maikel Garcia at third base. The 3B would then attempt to tag out his opponent. While doing so, he would make a hard tag and knock off the helmet of Chisholm Jr. from his head.

The former Miami Marlins star did not like this and was seen venting his frustration towards Garcia. He was later taken out of the game due to neck tightness, as his neck collided with the knee of the Royals’ third baseman.

While speaking with the reporters after the game, the 27-year-old believed that there was some sort of malice behind that tag from Garcia.

I just feel like every time we have a problem, it’s always been him (Garcia). That’s the only reason I was so frustrated. And then to even see that he didn’t even have the ball for the way that he tagged me, it was just, I didn’t like it.

Jazz Chisholm Jr. claimed that there should be more ‘trash talk’ in baseball

Jazz Chisholm Jr. caught some strays from MLB fans on Tuesday for his furious reaction to a hard tag from Maikel Garcia. One reason the fans took a swipe at him was because he recently claimed that there should be more ‘trash talk’ in baseball.

This message from him came through a tweet he made on X. It came after the Boston Red Sox’s rookie pitcher Hunter Dobbins made some bold comments. The 25-year-old pitcher claimed that he would rather retire than sign a contract with the Yankees. These comments from the pitcher came before his first start against the Bronx Bombers on Sunday.

Chisholm Jr. seemed to have been fired up with this. To spice things up even further, the former All-Star expressed there should be more trash talking in baseball.

I think there should be more trash talk in baseball!!! Anyone agrees!? Anyway free smoke at 7

While Dobbins conceded a two-run home run to Aaron Judge in the first inning, he ended up having the last laugh in this game. The Red Sox would come back to win the game 11-7 and win the 3 game series against their arch-rivals.
