Vince Wilfork doubts whether Tom Brady is truly a “Patriot for Life” after he didn’t pick the New England franchise to win Super Bowl LX. In a recent interview with WEEI, the Patriots Hall of Famer raised questions about Brady’s motives, having shared a locker room with him in Boston for 10 seasons.

Wilfork and Brady, together, won two rings with the Patriots while serving as the de facto leaders of their respective units. Aside from Gronkowski, Wilfork used to be the most colorful individual in the locker room.

There are several videos showcasing the retired defensive tackle’s quirky fashion sense and dietary habits. For him to be upset with Brady’s comments indicates the gravity of the situation. Wilfork shared with WEEI’s The Greg Hill Show during mid-Super Bowl week:

If you’re a Patriot for life, you know what it is. Don’t give me that political bullcrap.

On Tuesday, SiriusXM’s Let’s Go! podcast released an episode featuring Brady’s pick for Super Bowl LX. Instead of choosing New England, where he won six rings, Brady took a diplomatic stance. He said:

May the best team win.

In September 2023, the Patriots hosted a halftime show to celebrate Brady’s contributions to the team. Surrounded by the people he adores, Brady proudly accepted the tag of ‘once a Patriot, always a Patriot.’ He added:

All our lives take us on different journeys. They take us to different places. They bring different people into our lives. But one thing I’m sure of and that will never change, is that I am a Patriot for life. Thank you, guys for an incredible day. Thank you to my teammates.

Tom Brady receives Hall of Fame warning from Terrell Owens

Brady is one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play football, with many calling him the GOAT (Greatest of All Time), and his impressive record certainly supports that. It’s only a matter of time before the Pro Football Hall of Fame enshrines his bust in Canton and presents him with a gold jacket. However, the question is when, not if, and the recent string of events certainly points in that direction.

Within the last couple of weeks, both Brady’s former head coach, Bill Belichick, and Robert Kraft have been denied entry into the HOF on the first ballot. Former 49ers WR and HOF Terrell Owens believes that Brady should be treated in the same way as Belichick and Kraft. He told the California Post:

If [coach] Belichick doesn’t go in and Robert Kraft doesn’t go in first ballot, Tom Brady shouldn’t go in [either]… Nothing against him. How can you have Tom Brady go in when he’s up in 2028? Why would he go in if [Robert] Kraft and [Bill] Belichick don’t go in on the first go-around? Because, to be quite honest, yeah, is Tom Brady a good quarterback? Yeah. He’s not the quarterback he is without Robert Kraft drafting him. He’s not the quarterback he is without Bill Belichick. They all go hand-in-hand. So to me, why would he go in and those two don’t? He shouldn’t go in either.

Brady extended support for Kraft and Belichick, arguing they should have been granted entry in 2026. With the precedent now set by the voters, Brady fears his turn could be coming soon. He finished his NFL career with the most games started (333) despite missing two years of football. Brady holds the record for most completions (7753), most passing yards (89,214), 649 tuchdowns and a win-loss ratio of 251-82 (best in NFL history).
