Tuesday (July 30) wasn’t the best of days for Jeffery Simmons. The Tennessee Titans defensive tackle had a fiery exchange with a local radio host.
Following the training at Titans camp, 104.5 The Zone’s Buck Reising, prepared his booth to interview cornerback Roger McCreary. While McCreary took his place next to Reising before going on Air, a vaguely audible voice in the background can be heard.
That voice turned out to be Jeffery Simmons, who did not show his face on the camera, which captured the entire altercation. Reising calmly asked the 2 time All Pro tackle to clam down and have a chat whenever he liked.
We can talk whenever you want to talk.Buck Reising told Simmons, who finally came close enough for the microphone to pick up his words
The 27-year-old was clearly unhappy with Reising and started taunting him.
Pu**y...You do a lot of talk on social media. Stop talking on social media, talk to me!Jeffery Simmons shouted at Reising

It’s not a good look for Simmons because he is one of the leaders in the locker room. With a new coaching staff taking charge, he needs to set an example for the younger guys who recently joined the team and be a role model instead of losing his cool on the media.
Why did Jeffery Simmons shout at Buck Reising?
The specifics of the heated verbal exchange are unclear, but TMZ hinted at a possible cause that ignited the fire. Earlier in the day, Simmons got into a fight with JC Latham during training.

Reising wrote about it on X (formerly Twitter), claiming that Simmons took a swing at the rookie offensive lineman.
[Jeffery] Simmons just swung at Latham after some pushing a shoving…refs said 98 would have been tossed in the game. He’s back in for the next two and immediately starts a brawl. Sloppy. Simmons needs to lock tf in.Buck Reising wrote

Head coach Brian Callahan was lieutenant with the veteran, allowing him to continue on. He later admitted the challenge on Latham by the 27-year-old was enough for him to get ejected during a game.
It’s possible Simmons saw the tweet and wanted to have a piece of Reising. However, he was the one who became a talking point on social media for using abusive language.
He should focus on helping the Titans reach the playoffs for the first time since 2021. Last year he recorded 5.5 sacks, 44 combined tackles, and one forced fumble in 12 games. Simmons signed a contract extension of $94 million until 2027, making him one of the highest-paid defenders in the NFL.
