Over the years, Jerry Jones has made it abundantly clear that he does not care what anybody else thinks about the way he runs his Dallas Cowboys. He has either deflected criticism, or barked back at them.
Be it when he was facing a lot of heat for his inept effort to reinforce his team in the 2024 offseason, or when he paid Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb beyond what anyone imagined. Or when he traded away Micah Parsons this offseason, every time, the 82-year-old has stood his ground and ensured the football world knows he does not care what they think of him.
He has even resorted to his usual fiery words when asked if the Cowboys were better off without him as their General Manager. But those were mostly to reporters.
When his team was decimating the Jets, he flipped off New York fans who were trying to taunt him from the stands. The league does not appreciate such acts and promptly fined him $250,000.
That was unfortunate. There was a swarm of Cowboys fans out front… It was right after we made our last touchdown. We were all excited about it. There wasn’t any antagonistic issue or anything. I put up the wrong show of hand… The intention was thumbs up.

The billionaire revealed that his intention was to give his Dallas Cowboys fans a thumbs up, but inadvertently ended up using the wrong finger. Jerry Jones claims that he tried to fix it, and changed fingers, which the league should have counted before fining him.
Jerry Jones open to in-season trades to improve Cowboys
That 37-22 win over the New York Jets was as impressive as it could get for the Dallas Cowboys. Dak Prescott was excellent, despite playing without most of his starting offensive linemen and his leading wide receiver.
The defense also played much better than before. However, there are concerns the team needs a good pass rusher to compliment their improved run defense. 103.5 The Fan asked Jerry Jones if he was looking for ways to improve the roster.
I think that old sign ‘Open for business’ is there. We are continuing looking as we go on into this season… Yes, we’re in position to improve our team if we get an opportunity to.
Jerry Jones replied
The only owner-cum-GM in the NFL added that he is watching what is transpiring with other teams. Anytime a team’s situation changes, and they feel a player is worth letting go, he will look to try to make a deal.
Does the #DallasCowboys' performance this season tempt Jerry Jones to add to the team via trade?

Essentially, he is suggesting that he will not jump the gun and be lured into giving away more than required. Instead, he will wait for the right opportunity to pounce on.
Jerry Jones hopeful some starting players return against Panthers
Jerry Jones is not about to jump the gun on a trade and wants to see how a fully healthy Dallas Cowboys play in the next few games. For that, he hopes some of his offensive starters return next week.

We’ve got our fingers crossed on (KaVontae) Turpin, and possibly, it would be a stretch, but we could have one of those offensive linemen come in.

Jerry Jones says that the #Cowboys have their "fingers crossed" that KaVontae Turpin will return this week. He added that they "possibly" could have one of their starting offensive linemen back, although Tyler Smith (knee) and Guyton (concussion) are expected to return. pic.twitter.com/PUUXTTnsvF

Jones will observe the rest of the week before giving an official update, but hopes Dak Prescott gets another receiver back. More importantly, he hopes at least one of the ‘Tyler’s’ are back. Both Tyler Smith and Tyler Guyton are still on the injury list, but could return next week.
