Several narratives leaked out from the American Century Golf Tournament at Lake Tahoe, including an incident involving Jerry Rice. The Hall of Famer reportedly got into a fiery argument with two reporters.
A video surfaced on social media showing the 61-year-old walking up to an individual and threatening him. The natural assumption would be that Rice appeared angry as a form of protest. Yet the video suggested otherwise.
Jerry Rice can be seen hurling curse words at the man, holding a microphone,

TMZ caught a whiff of the altercation and retrieved the video. They later uploaded it on social media, which went viral in a matter of moments.

TMZ asked one of the individuals whom Rice confronted. They turned out to be reporters for Kansas City-based Starcade Media. One of them revealed to TMZ that it was one of the most shocking things ever to happen in their career.
They revealed asking Jerry Rice questions about the Chiefs’ chances this year and his thoughts about the receiver core. Last season, the majority of the Chiefs’ 4383 receiving yards were recorded by tight ends (Travis Kelce, Noah Gray, and Blake Bell) and running backs (Isiah Pacheco and Clyde Edwards-Helaire).
Kansas City did not have a single receiver who crossed the 1,000-yard mark. Rookie Rashee Rice racked up 79 catches for 938 yards. Travis Kelce had the best numbers, with 93 receptions for 984 yards.
To answer their receiver woes, the Chiefs added Xavier Worthy, Marquise Hollywood Brown, and Louis Rees Zammit and re-signed Mecole Hardman Jr. in the offseason.
Jerry Rice tried to defend the San Francisco 49ers
TMZ continued their investigation and discovered the two men tried to get a reaction from Rice by pestering him with Chiefs questions. When the Super Bowl winner could not tolerate it any longer, he advised them to back off, but they did not budge.

Judging by his reaction, Rice was only defending his favorite 49ers, who have been one of the main rivals of the Chiefs in recent seasons. Brock Purdy and Co. lost to the Kansas City franchise earlier this year.
We have sat on this video for a day as we wanted absolutely no negative publicity for Jerry Rice or the tournament but this TMZ story has now come to light and we feel the need to set the record straight on what took place.

According to TMZ, Starcade Media insisted that they had no intention of publishing the video because it painted Rice in a negative light. However, when they discovered a video was already in circulation, they switched their stance and came clean.
