Mirra Andreeva made history over two weeks ago at the Dubai Tennis Championships becoming the youngest player to win the WTA 1000 title. Since then, she has been praised as the future of the WTA circuit. American Jessica Pegula hailed her but pointed out Clara Tauson and Linda Noskova as well.

Andreeva did the almost impossible last year when she reached her maiden Grand Slam semifinals at the French Open. She then won her first WTA title last season at the Iasi Open. This year, she took her game to another level. She defeated Elena Rybakina and Iga Swiatek en route to the final in Dubai and eventually claimed the title.

However, she’s not the only player who to have impressed this year. Noskova and Tauson have also performed at the top level. The former, just 20 years old, reached the semifinals of the Abu Dhabi Open in February, while the latter finished as runners-up in the Dubai Tennis Championships.

In fact, Tauson already has three WTA titles, and Noskova just one. Pegula revealed during her press conference in Indian Wells that the aforementioned three women will dominate the WTA circuit.

There are many young players at a high level, but I would highlight Linda Noskova and Clara Tauson, as well as Mirra Andreeva, of course. It’s incredible what she’s doing, I think working with Conchita will be very positive for her career.

Jessica Pegula said addressing the media at Indian Wells

Andreeva, Noskova and Tauson all earned a first round bye in Indian Wells. They will open their account in the second round against Varvara Gracheva, Lulu Sun and Camila Osorio, respectively, in the California desert.

Jessica Pegula believes American players in the Top 10 will usher in a new era

It’s been 20 years since an American woman last won the Indian Wells singles title. The wait for who break the deadlock has reached a point where someone has to take the responsibility. However, Jessica Pegula believes that it will change this year as she enters the draw at the back of winning the ATX Open.

There are four Americans in the Top 10 of the WTA rankings. Madison Keys, Coco Gauff, Emma Navarro and Pegula. Pegula believes that with the growth of American women tennis will usher in a new era.

Having Coco (Gauff) and (Madison Keys) win slams over the last couple of years as Americans is huge for women’s tennis in America. I don’t know if that’s inspiring some of the lower ranked Americans to do really well, but it’s just been really incredible. I’m happy to be part of that group for the last couple years now.

Jessica Pegula said at a recent presser

Pegula and Navarro are the two most in-form players heading into the Indian Wells following their victory in Austin and Merida, respectively. The former will open her account in the second round against Poland’s Magda Linette, while the latter against a qualifier.
