Safety Jessie Bates reveals why Falcons are weary of Dak Prescott despite 3-4 start to Cowboys season
Falcons' Jessie Bates acknowledges that while Cowboys QB Dak Prescott isn’t as mobile as Lamar Jackson, he can still be highly dangerous with his passing if given time and space.

Dak Prescott has lost the zing in his step ever since turning 31 and doesn’t really like to use his feet too often. This leaves the door open for sacks from the opposing pass rushers.
It has been a struggle for the Cowboys this year as a ball-carrying side. Despite the presence of multiple Pro Bowl running backs, Ezekiel Elliott and Dalvin Cook, Rico Dowdle played more snaps. Dowdle is okay for making the short bursts out of the pocket, but his limited skill set prevents them from making big plays.
The Cowboys currently linger at the bottom of every rushing category. Whether it’s yards after catch, touchdowns, or scrimmage yards, Mike McCarthy’s team always remains on the backfoot when making running plays.
To compensate, McCarthy focused more on Prescott improving his pocket passing during the off-season. However, they had to adapt to unchartered territory without CeeDee Lamb, who missed the entire camp. The connection between the two players from past years has been missing this year, leading to Prescott throwing more interceptions.
Prescott threw two picks each of the last three games against the Steelers, the Lions, and the 49ers. The Cowboys will play NFC South toppers the Atlanta Falcons next, and they are planning to replicate the same. At the same time, the Falcons’ defense is also weary of the Prescott-Lamb connection finally working when they play each other.

Dak Prescott ready to help the Cowboys return to winning ways by defeating the Falcons
The Cowboys currently sit with a 3-4 record after eight weeks of football, but there’s still time for a turnaround. Their first target will be to overcome the challenge posed by the Falcons.
On a personal level, Prescott needs to limit throwing picks. During a recent interview, he acknowledged the errors in his play but also pointed out the positives that get overshadowed.
Prescott is 3-1 against the Falcons in his NFL career. He has 100 completions for 1130 yards and 3 touchdowns in this fixture.
