The 23-year-old Nebraskan Breece Hall took a couple of hits, from Jahlani Tavai and other defenders, amid the win against the New England Patriots on Thursday. The New York Jets improved their record to 2-1 and sit in second position in the AFC East behind the Buffalo Bills.

Hall has continuously jumped in the line of fire to save Aaron Rodgers, who has been instrumental in changing the Jets’ narrative. Rodgers led the Green and White on Thursday with a brilliant performance of 27 pass completions of 35 for 281 yards and two touchdowns.

Rodgers made a huge improvement on the quarterback rating, scoring 81.8. The Jets have gone from maybe playoffs to a Super Bowl contender under Rodgers’ mastery.

Rodgers has quickly changed the way the Jets used to play. Hall had earlier said that Rodgers adds a sense of calmness to the offensive line. The calm and collectedness came in handy last week when they finished off the Tennessee Titans for the first win of the season.

The Jets will keep important attention to protect the GOAT from any hits that could put him out of play. The last time Rodgers played in MetLife, he suffered an Achilles injury which ended his season leading to the Jets’ spiral to the bottom. Amid this, Hall had a cheeky take on the Tavai hits tweet by Andrew Cooper worrying about Hall’s sleep.

Yall really don’t know how hard pass pro is (laughing emoticons) Anything to Keep 8 Clean.

Breece Hall tweeted after the game

The brutal hit from Tavai, almost like a pro-wrestling move, hasn’t gone down well with fans either. Many were angry at the unnecessary roughness which could put the player on the benches out of play.

Breece Hall took a dig at the Patriots while discussing the Jets’ gameplay

Breece Hall had some thoughts regarding the Jets game against the New England Patriots. Although they ran riot on the Patriots with a 24-3 win, there were some elements the Green and White need to rectify before the next game.

Hall felt that the Jets’ offense was shooting themselves in the foot with the unintentional penalties they amassed. The Jets had one fairly clean penalty against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 1. However, they made seven penalties each against the Titans as well as the Patriots. The player also added that they can’t make the same mistakes against a better opponent, taking a dig at the Patriots.

I was happy we won but I still feel like our offense was shooting ourselves in the foot (with penalties) ... when you go back and watch film it’s like: OK, we can’t do that if we’re playing a better opponent.

The Patriots’ fortune has waned in recent times. In 2023/24, the Patriots sunk to 4-13, the most losses suffered in a single season since 1992. The Jets, whom the Patriots easily owned for 15 straight games broke the streak in early January. They have an even more tough opponent in the 49ers next week while the Jets play the Denver Broncos.
