The 2024 season is not going well for the New York Jets and contrary to popular opinion, the head coach Robert Saleh is under the most pressure on the team. But that sentiment only doesn’t echo within the premise of the team, as Dan Orlovsky claimed Saleh is facing scrutiny more than any other coach in the league.

After the disastrous end to last season, where the Jets were the first team to get eliminated from the playoff race, the Jets made a lot of promises for the 2024 season to the fans, while already having six primetime games out of the 11. However, as the season began, the Jets’ hope came crashing down with a 32-19 loss at the hands of the San Francisco 49ers

During the recent episode of ESPN’s Get Up, Orlovsky highlighted how the Jets’ lack of consistency under head coach Saleh may jeopardize his future with the team. As the team is preparing for week 2, the sports analyst claimed he has his eyes set on New York because of Saleh.

I think it’s fair to say, there is no coach in the NFL with more pressure on them this weekend than Robert Saleh

Despite having Aaron Rodgers recovered from the Achilles injury he suffered in week 1 of last season and remain benched afterward, if the Jets’ performance didn’t enhance, there’s a likely chance that both he and head coach Saleh will be on the hot seats.

Jets head coach Robert Saleh remains focused to fix issues

While facing scrutiny over the team’s lackluster performance in the season-opener, the Jets head coach remains confident in them. In a short conversation with Brian Costello of The New York Post, Saleh opened up about his team’s struggles but still believe that things could be fixed

It’s definitely going to get fixed. I’m not discouraged in any way. Obviously, they executed a hell of a lot better than we did, and we’ll be better for it.

Furthermore, New York’s head coach also opened up about how things went sideways for his team in the season-opening game as they started pretty strongly. He believes that by the end of the first half; the Jets had given up after the 49ers’ six-minute drive, which resulted in a field goal.

One big Week 1 storyline for the Jets was their lackluster pass rush without Haason Reddick, struggling against a weak offensive line. They have a shot at redemption against the Tennessee Titans, but if they fail again, it might be panic time.
