Dolphins’ Jevon Holland blames persistent ‘racism’ in America for police’s violent behavior with Tyreek Hill

The Miami Dolphins are making the headlines but not over their close victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 1, but for the detainment of star wide receiver Tyreek Hill in the morning of the Sunday Night Football matchup. The way the Miami police handcuffed him by forcing the player on the ground has sparked a huge debate on the internet as fans are alleging Hill became victim to racism in America.
From fans to sports analyst such as Stephen A. Smith called out the police for disrespecting Hill in such a manner, calling it “wrong” and stretching the matter beyond necessity. The NFL Cheetah’s teammate Jevon Holland as well joined the debate in a recent media interaction, where he criticized Miami police for treating Hill with excessive force as they did during detainment on Sunday.
That was crazy. Cop kicked him or something. That was crazy. So, that’s gotta get handled. Excessive force on a Black man. That’s not uncommon. That’s a very common thing in America, so I think that needs to be addressed at a country-wide level.Jevon Holland said
Holland demanded this matter to be addressed more seriously, especially since the local police was involved. Calling it “unnatural,” the safety argued that this isn’t a small thing and should be acknowledged across the country.
Miami Police launch internal investigation after Tyreek Hill incident
The incident from Sunday has attracted immense attention from all across the United States as fans demanded justice for the player. Considering the sensitivity and gravity of the situation, Miami-Dade Police Director Stephanie V. Daniels announced that he has initiated a thorough Internal Affairs investigation against the police officer.

Although the identity of the police officer haven’t been revealed, he is said to have been in the police department for the last 25 years. While addressing the media post-game, Hill shared that he wasn’t told why he was being handcuffed and denied the allegation of having a physical altercation or being disrespectful towards the police as it was reportedly claimed at first.
