Jey Uso gets emotional after winning the Intercontinental Championship (via WWE)
Jey Uso challenged Bron Breakker for the Intercontinental Championship in the main event of the latest episode of Raw. In a highly shocking outcome, the Samoan emerged victorious and won his first singles championship in WWE despite being with the company for a decade and a half.
WWE recently posted footage of Jey Uso giving an emotional interview with Jackie Redmond shortly after the show went off the air. She asked him how he felt after finally winning singles gold in WWE, and he seemed to break down almost as soon as the interview started. This resulted in the crowd giving him a huge ovation, alongside “You deserve it” chants.
Uso took the moment to thank those who had supported him throughout his journey. Furthermore, he was elated to have achieved this milestone in his home state of California. He also talked about the importance of hard work and how it had led him to where he was.

The former Bloodline member won the #1 Contender’s Tournament for Bron Breakker’s Intercontinental Championship on Raw a few weeks ago. He received good luck wishes from Rhea Ripley ahead of his match this week and went on to face the rising superstar.
Towards the end of the match, the 10x Tag Team Champion countered his opponent’s spear with a super kick. The Samoan then speared him through the barricade and again in the ring. After a diving splash from the top rope, Uso was crowned the new Intercontinental Champion.

Damian Priest and Jey Uso have had a complex relationship over the past year. They had clashed multiple times when the Puerto Rican was part of The Judgment Day. They even faced each other for the World Heavyweight Championship at Backlash. However, the two superstars appear to have buried the hatchet and seem to be on a good note.
Thus, it is no surprise that the Archer of Infamy sent a message to his friend after he won the Intercontinental Championship. Many other members of the wrestling community, such as his father Rikishi, Rhea Ripley, and WWE Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes, also sent their congratulatory messages to the new champion.
Uso has been helping The Terror Twins in their fight against The Judgment Day after Rhea Ripley and Priest were kicked out of the faction at SummerSlam. He has helped them even the odds on many occasions. Furthermore, he has been a highly valuable ally to have on one’s side.
