Jey Uso is one of the most popular and beloved superstars in WWE right now. A big part of his popularity comes from the famous catchphrase ‘Yeet,’ which fans love to yell whenever he throws a kick or a punch. Over the past few weeks, The Yeet Master has been trying to convince other superstars to join him in performing the Yeet wave on multiple live shows.
A few weeks ago, he successfully convinced the current World Heavyweight Champion, Damian Priest, to perform the ‘Yeet’. However, that was certainly not the case with his opponent, Gunther. The Ring General has never been a fan of Jey Uso‘s antics, even going so far as to call him an entertainer rather than a wrestler. When the 38-year-old star tried to persuade him to do the Yeet, he tricked him by attacking him halfway through.
Gunther and Jey both performed during the WWE SuperShow Summer tour in Osaka, Japan. While the 36-year-old star defeated WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio, Jey had to suffer a loss against Priest. Speaking about the hilarious segment, the Japanese crowd truly believed at one point that The Ring General was going to attempt the Yeet, but he disappointed them all by attacking the fan-favorite star.
After losing his Intercontinental title at WrestleMania XL, Gunther picked himself right back up and won the King of the Ring tournament. The win immediately made him the No. 1 contender for the World Heavyweight Championship. He will face The Judgment Day member at SummerSlam on August 3. Fans are on the champion’s side, as the Austrian star crossed the line during their segments.
Gunther opened up about his exchanges with CM Punk since his return to WWE
CM Punk is known for being in the spotlight for various reasons throughout his career. Since his return to WWE, he has been in high spirits backstage and has helped many young stars whenever needed. As such, Gunther talked about his exchanges with The Best in the World.

While speaking on the Gorilla Position podcast, The Ring General stated that their conversation had been brief but great. He felt Punk had been enjoying his time with the Stamford-based company. Gunther admitted that he couldn’t say much about him because they haven’t been involved in any kind of storyline yet.
Very brief... but yeah, fine. I wouldn't say we are friends or something, but all interactions have been pleasant so far. I was not involved in any like story or program with him yet, so can't really say much about that. But it seems like he's really enjoying being back and being a part of WWE again.Gunther on CM Punk via Gorilla Position podcast
The Imperium leader said that Punk knows how to always stay in the conversation. He will battle for the first time since he got injured at the Royal Rumble PLE against Drew McIntyre at SummerSlam. They won’t be alone inside the ring, as Seth Rollins will also be involved as the special guest referee. If the right stars align on August 3, fans might witness Gunther and Punk battling for the World Heavyweight title soon.
