Edge will be making an in-ring return at WWE Smackdown, for the first time in over 10 years. He will be taking on Jey Uso. The winner of the match gets to be the special enforcer for the Universal Championship match at WWE Fastlane.
Roman Reigns will be in action at Fastlane. His Universal title will be on the line against Daniel Bryan. During their contract signing segment, they felt that the match should have a special referee. Edge and Uso, both wanted to take up the role.
The Rated-R Superstar suggested that they should square off in the ring to decide. WWE official Adam Pearce officially announced the match. Since then, the duo have exchanged a few words on Twitter. Uso has acknowledged that he is going against a legend, but at the same time, he is confident of a win.
Edge’s opponent for Wrestlemania 37 is yet to be finalized
At WWE Royal Rumble 2021, Edge entered the match at No.1 and outlasted 29 opponents to win the Men’s Rumble match. After weeks of teasing his Wrestlemania opponent, the Rated-R Superstar made it clear at Elimination Chamber that he is going after the Universal Championship.
But the title is now on the line at WWE Fastlane. In case, Daniel Bryan wins the title, Edge’s opponent changes at the Showcase of Immortals. WWE has successfully built a rivalry between Edge and Bryan too. This even opens up the possibility of a Triple-Threat main event match at Mania.
WWE Wrestlemania airs live on 10th and 11th April, 2021. WWE Fastlane airs live on 21st March, 2021.
