Former Michigan Wolverines head coach Jim Harbaugh kept his promise of inking the team’s 2023 championship triumph. A post on social media on Saturday showed Harbaugh receiving a tattoo on his right arm.

The Wolverines were unbeaten in the season against all odds. Harbaugh’s men faced the daunting challenge of Washington in the CFP finals, which they overcame with very few difficulties.

Before the final, Jim Harbaugh promised that if they won, he would mark the moment with a tattoo. He kept the promise and inked 15-0 on his arm. However, his reaction broke the internet.

I'm going to put it on my shoulder. I'll probably get it on my own. And then an M too, an M that's maize and blue.
Harbaugh told ESPN.

Throughout the process, he did not flinch. Usually, when an ink artist applies the needle to the skin, it does sting for a split second. As for Harbaugh, he kept a straight face as if it did not bother him.

I'm impervious to pain.
He later joked about it.

This was perhaps his first tattoo. And after receiving it, he realized why people are so fascinated by them.

I can see why, once you get one [tattoo], you might want to start adding to it
Harbaugh added.

Jim Harbaugh came to Michigan and conquered everything

Despite boasting the most wins in college football, Michigan had little silverware to show for it. The last time they were National Champions was back in 1999 when Tom Brady was starting his career with the program.

Similar to Brady, Harbaugh is a Michigan alumnus who was their quarterback from 1982 to 1986. When he returned to Ann Arbor, the team was a mess and was constantly facing defeats against great rivals Ohio State.

The initial two years were tough, but once he established a system, the team began to win games. They even recorded back-to-back wins against the Buckeyes. Yet the CFP title alluded to him and the team.

Everything changed in 2023. Even though he had to serve a few touchline bans due to signal staling allegations, the Wolverines won the Big 10 title, the Rose Bowl, and the long-awaited CFP championship.

Harbaugh recently attended the ring ceremony at Michigan, where he thanked his fellow coaches for their achievements.

All the coaches that coached here—if they coached for five years, we’ve got them an M ring this year. I really appreciate our administration and the M Club, which supports us.
Harbaugh said.

Harbaugh left Michigan to become the head coach of his former NFL side, the Los Angeles Chargers, earlier this year. Sherrone Moore, who was the offensive coordinator for the Wolverines, replaced Harbaugh as the new HC at Michigan.
