Midway through this past 2024-25 NBA season, the Golden State Warriors acquired Jimmy Butler from the Miami Heat after a lot of controversies and issues with the Eastern Conference franchise. Butler famously called himself the “Robin” to Stephen Curry‘s “Batman” after he joined the Warriors. He went on to call guard Buddy Hield as “Alfred,” who was Batman’s comic book butler.

Now, Butler has added another character to his famous Batman nicknames, this time it was the turn of Warriors star defender, Draymond Green. Butler called Green ‘The Batmobile’ as he guards the defense, just like the BatMobile guards and protects Batman, as per the comic book.

Robin, he [going to] Robin the sh*t out of this motherf**ker this year. Batman [going to] do his job. Draymond is uh … Draymond’s the Batmobile, you know. He’s like the one who’s got to get us to where we need to go. He do a little bit of everything: Shoot them thangs, ‘pew pew,’ somebody’s shooting at us, he rolling over [and] protecting us. You know what I’m saying?

Aside from this, the Warriors fell below expectations as they were knocked out by the Minnesota Timberwolves during the NBA playoffs. It’s also important to note that Stephen Curry was injured during the playoffs, leaving the Warriors short of their star on the roster. In addition, Butler averaged 17.5 points, 5.4 assists, and 5.4 rebounds in 55 games in 2024-25.

Also, going into this offseason, Butler has not slowed down. The two-time NBA finalist is coming with the same energy that he always possesses into the new season. Currently, the Warriors star is in China due to his collaboration with different brands, attending various promotional events, and hooping around in China with the fans.

Despite playing for a limited time with his new teammates in Curry and Green, Butler did quite well individually. However, ‘Jimmy Buckets’ is aware that he still has more to give his team in the forthcoming campaign. Butler, Curry, Green, and the other Warriors players will shortly begin training camp in preparation for their primary objective, which is to win the 2026 NBA championship.

Jimmy Butler met veteran actor Jackie Chan in China

Along with Jimmy Butler attending his promotional events due to his collaborations, he is also fulfilling his side quests in China. Notably, the Warriors star met up with world famous actor Jackie Chan on his trip to China. Not only did he have a normal meet, but they also exchanged jerseys. In addition, Butler also got a martial arts class from the veteran actor.

This showcases the star’s willingness to learn new activities ahead of the new NBA season. The Warriors star man has faced a lot of hardships in his career, but has never backed down in any situation, something that the DubNation admires about their ‘Robin.’

It’s also important to note that Butler is known for his hard approach, mental toughness, and complete discipline throughout his NBA career. This could be the reason why the upcoming season holds a lot of promise for the Warriors team.

NBA reporter revealed Jimmy Butler fills the Andrew Wiggins role in new system

Ever since Andrew Wiggins left the Golden State Warriors, his void has remained incomplete and tough to fill. When the Warriors drafted their young star, Jonathan Kuminga, they expected him to fill this void. To be fair to him, as per NBA reporter Brett Siegel, Kuminga had his fair share of performances when the Warriors wanted him to step up.

His inability to shoot, however, prevents him from playing in a system with players like Green or Curry, who are always moving the ball. The Warriors are still not able to figure out how to get the best out of Kuminga without losing previous dynamics. However, Siegel claims that Jimmy Butler, the Warriors’ new star who arrived last season, covers the Wiggins’ vacuum.

He’s setting screens. He’s dashing to that free throw line extended. He’s getting other guys involved, he’s being a willing passer and he’s almost like second Draymond in a way where they’re able to create offense through him

Additionally, this alters Kuminga’s path with the Warriors, who was considering leaving Golden State due to a pause in contract negotiations. The team’s willingness to trade their young forward despite his potential can be explained by Siegel’s recent remarks. This is due to the drawing contrast between Butler’s rapid impact and Kuminga’s inconsistencies.
