Jimmy Butler joins Steph Curry and Golden State Warriors from Miami Heat
Over the past few weeks, the name dominating the NBA’s trade news has been Jimmy Butler. He had made his intentions clear that he wanted to leave the Miami Heat after they indicated they will not provide him with an extension.
That is when he set his sights on the Phoenix Suns as he wanted to join Kevin Durant and Devin Booker. To facilitate that, Bradley Beal would have to move. Even though reports indicated he could waive his no-trade clause, later, he declined to entertain it.
However, talks were moving forward on how the six-time All-Star could join the Suns. He had made it clear that he did not want to join any other team. His insistence on playing in Arizona also saw other contending teams such as the Memphis Grizzlies fall out of the race.
Then there were rumors of the Golden State Warriors entering the race. At one point of time, Butler’s representatives suggested he was hell bent on moving to Arizona, therefore, the Warriors stood as outside bets. Now Shams Charania comes up with an update.
The Miami Heat are finalizing a deal to send Jimmy Butler to the Golden State Warriors for Andrew Wiggins, Dennis Schroder, Kyle Anderson and a protected first-round pick, sources tell ESPN.

This means that the 35-year-old joins Steph Curry and Draymond Green to form a new core trio. It also means that the Warriors get a player who has proven that he comes alive during the playoffs. They did lose some complimentary pieces, but they gained a player who could help them unlock the next level.
Fans not happy of Jimmy Butler to Warriors move
That might be the logic the Golden State Warriors thought off when executing this trade. But fans do not feel the same. They feel that the fit is not right and there is a high chance that Jimmy Butler might clash with the likes of Draymond Green. Moreover, they also feel that the Warriors gave up way too much for Butler.
His recent injuries and combative attitude might make this trade a disaster if it does not work out. Fans took to social media to voice their concerns. Check out examples of those concerns below.
Will definitely have a fight with Draymond

Isn't Butler a bit too old at 35 to make this a smart trade for the Warriors, especially when considering the ages & talent of Wiggins & Schroder.

This feels like another Mavs win now scenario.
Jimmy has been injured 4/4 of the last playoffs. He’s an elite player but it’s not like he’s going to provide much more value than 3 good role players in Wiggins Schroder and SlowMo

Congrats dub nation 🔥
Not sure what to think about this trade. Bitb teams get slightly better, but it doesn't move the needle for either of them

What a desperate trade. The Heat got everything out of the Warriors

Steph Curry’s fans want him to win another NBA title before he retires. But to do that, the team needed another star, which they have got in the six-time All-Star. However, fans think Curry would have been better off with another superstar than Butler.
