American tennis great Jimmy Connors has celebrated Novak Djokovic‘s Olympic triumph on the latest episode of his ‘Advantage Connors’ podcast. It was a monumental win for the Serbian, who has now won almost every title in the sport following his Olympic gold.

Desperate all year, Djokovic planned his tennis season around the Games. Despite suffering from the repercussions of a knee injury, he played some of the best tennis all year to win the title. He downed big names in the sport, including Rafael Nadal and Stefanos Tsitsipas, before taking down Carlos Alcaraz in the final.

He beat the in-form Alcaraz 7-6(3), 7-6(2) to secure his first title of the season and the gold medal for his country. Connors celebrated Djokovic’s win and highlighted its importance. He underlined the Serbian’s perseverance and drive to win the medal.
