On April 19, Jinder Mahal‘s second tenure with WWE officially came to an end. Without doubt, the most memorable moment of his career was his reign as WWE Champion in 2017. While the run was met with polarizing views, his infamous promo on Shinsuke Nakamura received major backlash from the WWE Universe. Recently, The Modern Day Maharaja opened up about the segment and unsurprisingly revealed that it was Vince McMahon‘s idea.

While speaking with Chris Van Vliet, Mahal said that he was reluctant to cut the promo. Moreover, he approached the then-CEO and warned him about the possibility of negative press. However, McMahon explained to the former 3MB member that it was just a part of the “entertainment.” After mocking Nakamura with derogatory and racist remarks, a social media manager asked Mahal to put out a statement on social media.

Once again, McMahon changed his mind about the matter and informed them not to do so. The former United States Champion stated that if he didn’t follow orders, he would’ve been fired. Further, Jinder Mahal disclosed that he regretted cutting the promo. Unfortunately, this wasn’t the first time that the former owner of WWE forced one of his stars to deliver a similar segment.

It got a lot of negative backlash, like I remember coming back from Gorilla. I was still hanging out by Gorilla and one of the social media managers came up to me and said 'Hey, this is getting a lot of bad PR and Vince wants you to tweet something, like a statement.'

Shelton Benjamin recently revealed how he felt disgusted about his insensitive promo on Yoshi Tatsu. Needless to say, there have been several instances of casual racism on WWE’s product, specifically during the leadership of Vince McMahon. With that said, it is highly unlikely that fans will see such segments under the new WWE regime.

Janel Grant files petition against wellness doctor she was sent to by Vince McMahon

Back in January, a former WWE employee, Janel Grant, accused Vince McMahon of s*xual abuse and trafficking. In a recent new filing, she alleged that the former CEO sent her to Dr. Carlon Colker‘s clinic to treat her insomnia and fatigue. Moreover, Grant revealed that the doctor prescribed her unmarked adrenal pills.

Despite facing side effects from the medication, Dr. Colker affirmed that she could trust him. In light of that, Grant has filed a petition to seek her medical records from the clinic. The filing suggests that several WWE superstars also obtain medical treatment from Dr. Colker.

Further, it states that he was aware of the NDA Grant signed before leaving WWE. At the moment, the lawsuit against McMahon, John Laurinaitis, and the Stamford-based promotion has been put on hold due to an ongoing federal investigation. After the allegations became public knowledge, the 78-year-old resigned from his position as chairman of TKO.
