Czech tennis player Jiri Lehecka won the hearts of tennis fans as he wrote a message for opponent Daniil Medvedev while signing on the camera at the Madrid Open. As Medvedev retired midway through his match against Lehecka over injury concerns, the Czech star wrote a special message for his opponent. Lehecka wished Medvedev a speedy recovery.

The Russian tennis star seemed to be struggling with his right leg. Medvedev also called for help midway through the opening set. Although he continued to play after receiving some treatment, the Russian walked off the court after conceding the first set 4-6.

With Medvedev retiring, Lehecka advanced to his first Masters final. While it was a memorable moment for the Czech tennis player, Lehecka could not stop thinking about his injured opponent. He showed his compassion by writing a message on the camera for Medvedev.

Jiri Lehecka did not just write a message but also expressed his concerns over Daniil Medvedev‘s injury. The 22-year-old talked about it in his interview as he claimed that this was not the way he wanted to win. The Czech player said that it was not easy for him to see Medvedev struggling.

Lehecka then talked about the nature of the tour that forces players to focus on themselves. The youngster looked worried about his opponent.

It's never easy in a match like this. If I were to choose the way how to win this match, it wouldn't be like that. So of course, it's never easy to see your opponent struggling, but at that moment, you just need to focus on yourself, trying to get the maximum level out of yourself.

While the youngster expressed his concerns and also wrote a message for Medvdev, fans could not stop themselves from praising Lehecka. Tennis fans liked his gesture and heaped praise on him.

Coming to Lehecka’s campaign in Madrid, the 22-year-old Czech tennis player has made some great advances. He beat Rafael Nadal in the fourth round and has now reached the semifinal for the first time. Lehecka will face Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime in the next match.
