Jiri Prochazka explains drinking with Jamahal Hill after UFC 311 knockout: “Fight together, drink together”

Typically, fighters do not develop a strong camaraderie after their bouts. Over the years, many fighters shared bad blood after their fight. Notably, the rivalry between Dustin Poirier and Conor McGregor is one of the prominent examples. However, following the UFC 311 event, there was a remarkable moment of mutual respect shared between Jiri Prochazka and Jamahal Hill.
Recently, the Czech Republic MMA fighter Jiri Prochazka showcased his ‘Samurai’ mode once again by decisively defeating Jamahal Hill. In a surprising turn of events, after the fight, the two competitors met at a bar and shared drinks together. Shortly thereafter, Prochazka spoke with prominent MMA journalist Ariel Helwani and explained his reasons for sharing a drink with his opponent.
The fighter from the Czech Republic proudly showcases his sense of brotherhood whenever he gets the chance. However, Prochazka shared that he was surprised by Jamahal Hill’s pre-fight trash talk on social media. In stark contrast to Hill’s current demeanor, the American fighter remained furious, making scathing remarks about Prochazka.

Notably, he criticized Prochazka for missing out on championship opportunities. The Czech fighter’s two brutal and dominating losses against Alex Pereira sparked significant criticism in the UFC community. However, Prochazka remained unfazed and came back strong with renewed energy in his UFC 311 bout against Hill.
On the other hand, the American fighter faced another setback in his impressive UFC career record, resulting in Hill suffering the first consecutive defeat of his promotional career.
Jamahal Hill reflects on his loss against Jiri Prochazka at UFC 311
Jamahal ‘Sweet Dreams’ Hill is known for his outspoken personality and unprovoked trash-talk. Over the years, he has engaged in online exchanges and trash talk with several fellow competitors. However, in most of his fights, Hill has backed up his words by defeating his opponents. That said, in his matchup against Jiri Prochazka, he could not deliver his best performance.
Typically, after suffering a defeat in a significant matchup, fighters tend to reflect and express their thoughts, and that’s exactly what Hill did. The 33-year-old American fighter shared a heartfelt message on his Instagram account (@sweet_dreams_hill), revealing his state of mind following UFC 311. Additionally, Hill also posted a video of himself and Prochazka enjoying drinks at a bar together.
Hill appears determined to make a strong comeback following his consecutive defeats to Prochazka and Pereira. However, he took significant damage in his most recent fight, leading to speculation that the American fighter may take some time off to recover and return at his best. It will be interesting to see who he faces upon his return from this break.
