Magomed Ankalaev recently shocked the world by becoming the new light heavyweight champion. The Russian defeated Alex Pereira via unanimous decision and has already indulged in several beefs with top candidates. One of them is the former champion Jiri Prochazka, who didn’t take Ankalaev’s insults lightly.
Following the fight, Prochazka first called out Pereira for a trilogy, then shifted his focus to Ankalaev. However, the newly crowned champion mocked the Czech fighter by calling him a fraud who lost to Pereira twice. In a recent interview, Prochazka hit back at the Russian and doubled down on the challenge.
The only fraud fighter here is Magomed Ankalaev. Right now he is the champion, but I think nobody likes that or respects that he is the champion. Don’t speak about me anymore, ’cause you don’t know me. Absolutely, you don’t know what kind of life I’m living. Face me in the cage, then you will understand.

Prochazka vacated his light heavyweight title back in 2022 due to an injury and failed to capture it again. Since then, he has remained inconsistent, with his last win coming against Jamahal Hill at UFC 311. Despite several losses, the ‘Samurai’ keeps on bouncing back and is motivated to win the title again.
Unlike Prochazka, Magomed Ankalaev defeated Pereira in the first try by using his wrestling threat. Though he struggled to take down the Brazilian, Ankalaev managed to push back Pereira throughout the fight. There are fans who didn’t appreciate the result, while the newly crowned champion is ready for the rematch.
Magomed Ankalaev responds to Jiri Prochazka’s callout
Magomed Ankalaev came close to winning the light heavyweight title back in 2022, where his fight with Jan Blachowicz resulted in a draw. Since then, the fighter has remained undefeated and finally won the championship. With the win, Ankalaev became the third fighter from Dagestan after Khabib Nurmagomedov and Islam Makhachev to win the belt.

UFC CEO Dana White wasn’t impressed with the fight and had already talked about a potential rematch. Ankalaev is also ready for it but wants Alex Pereira to have an offensive approach. In a recent tweet, Ankalaev responded to Jiri Prochazka’s comments after the latest dispute.
Alex send this guy to the hospital 2 time make him sleep. He should not talk or do any interviews quite Alex is next or whatever do you want? I don’t care.

Ankalaev seems to be ready for anybody; however, the light heavyweight division is currently at a low. There are also rumors about Pereira potentially moving up to the heavyweight division. Regardless, it will be interesting to see what the UFC decides next for Ankalaev.
