Losing out on the vacant title at UFC 295 made Jiri Prochazka return at UFC 300 to deliver a statement performance. Prochazka closed out the featured prelims by defeating Aleksandar Rakic in a comeback performance. The ‘Samurai’ has thus won 29 of his 30 career wins by stoppage, including all four of his UFC wins. However, these aren’t the tidbits about the fighter that send fans into a frenzy.
Contrarily, it is quite the opposite. Jiri Prochazka often goes viral due to peculiar habits and habitats. It ranges from cycling 105 miles non-stop to lying naked for a photoshoot in cold winter. The MMA community often jibes at him for being the Tony Ferguson of the light heavyweight division. ‘El Cucuy’ often goes viral for unconventional training with ex-NAVY David Goggins. Now, the Czech fighter has done it yet again.
The striker out of Jetsaam Gym Brno recently left fans in awe with his performance at UFC 300. Facing Aleksandar Rakic, he went blow-for-blow and took blows and slicers to his lead-leg head-on. He took out ‘Rocket’ Rakic with a second-round TKO to win the ‘Performance of the Night’ bonus award of $300k.
However, the fighter has uploaded a solemnly solitary video reel in his wood cabin in the Czech Republic. He revealed his intention to recover & resume training before ending the video with a primal war cry. A prime reaction read – “Very unusual human being.” The video went viral on the internet in no time.
Fight fans react to Jiri Prochazka training at his wood cabins after UFC 300
205-pound staple Jiri Prochazka follows in the footsteps and the disciplines of 61-duel “Kensei” and philosopher Miyamoto Musashi. While he might not proclaim himself to be a samurai, his ways are infamous as one. His zen outlook and ability to bear pain in his matchups are unprecedented.
Currently 30-4-1 MMA, 4-1 UFC, he retreated to his cabins to train rigorously in the cold after UFC 300. Here’s how fans have reacted to footage of the fighter baring:
Some fans have quipped what a fighter living in the woods would do with a ‘Performance of the Night’ bonus. Consequently, other fans have wholeheartedly resounded that he was a true ‘samurai’ in the promotion.
Additionally, some fans have invoked him and Alex Pereira exhibiting a stoic, “warrior-like” aura. Fans have also expressed they do not want to see him scuffling against ‘Poatan’ for a shot at a title rematch, as that would pit two “warriors” against each other. All in all, Jiri Prochazka remains a magnetic sensation for nuances among fighters.
